Author has written 3 stories for Horror, and Humor. About me Hi folks, well here I am supposed to write something about myself. My name is Kari (well most people call me like that at least), and now I am 22 years old. My hobbies are billiard, role-playing, and of course reading. I have many books ( I think the current number is 470?) and I have already read most of them. Mostly they are about something historical, or mystery or fantasy, or something similar. I am studying maths, which was since school a subject that I very much liked. I am from Germany, so naturally my English is not as good as that of many others here, but I am trying my best, to write in a good language. Actually I was never very good in something like interpreting or analysing literature, but I love writing or reading. In my opinion much is destroyed of a text by using brute force to make up what the author was thinking by doing something, although I can indeed say if I like a text or not. But I guess all of this is up to every ones own opinion. I appreciate reviews very much, since I am happy about criticism both positive and negative. I know I am not the best writer no matter which language I am writing in, but I have many ideas about plots and very nice friends who encourage me to share them although my style might not be perfect. I hope you will have as much fun reading my stories as I had writing them. Kari Please note: Break Writer´s Block is a forum that is dedicated to help authors over a writer´s block. Please check it out! My stories Stories here 1. The Horror of London - Words: 1304; Status: in progress My second story, and is about a year of horror for many poor british people who lived in Whitechapel during 1888. Maybe darker than my other stories. 2. Writing a Fanfic / Das Schicksal eines Fanfic-Autors - Words: 853/946; Status: complete A parody on writing fanfics. As I am writing them myself this is not entirely serious of course! These are on my ff.net-account 1. Away From the Shadows/Weg von den Schatten - Fandome: Without a Trace; Words: 865/912; Status: complete A beautiful scene I have seen some time ago in a movie and I rewrote it so that it fits WoT. I like this show, but I think case-fanfics would be very difficult to write. Weg von den Schatten ist die deutsche Übersetzung.(German translation) 2. Saving Samantha - Fandome: Without a Trace; Words: 836; Status: complete Just a little idea I had during a quiet moment. 3. Broken/Zerbrochen - Fandome: House, MD.; Words: 945/1000; Status: complete One of my oneshots, I wrote it while I was on the train, and had just watched some episodes on DVD. This really somehow came to my mind and I didn´t have a real plot in mind to go with it, I simply like House! Zerbrochen ist die deutsche Übersetzung. (German translation) 4. Feelings Hurt - Fandome: Cold Case; Words: 1505; Status: complete My very first idea I wanted to put in a fanfic but somehow it never made it has way from my twisted mind to the paper. I wrote it on the train too, I get the best ideas on the train so I should write there more often :) 5. Finding Out- Fandome Cold Case; Words: 2796; Status: complete This was my very first fanfic and I think it was inspired by something I read here but then it was an idea I made up with a friend of mine and she helped me a lot with the plot. I think it needs a lot of revision which I am currently working on but that changes will be mostly technical, the content will be the same still. I have now revised the formatting and some spelling errors I noticed in the story. And I changed the summary too. 6. The Message/ Die Nachricht - Fandome: Cold Case; Words: 3895/4494; Status: incomplete/incomplete What a work done, it took my over a year to get this one finished but now since it is done I am really proud of it. I know there are stories out there that are much longer but still I know that I put hard work into it. Since I only started with writing in 2007 and it was finished 2008 I think you can see how my style develops although I did some serious revision especially on the first chapters. The case was inspired by a real one (an idea I got from the episode "Boy in a box") but of course I changed times and places and descriptions. I am currently rewriting this, so please be patient! I promise it will be so much better once I´m done with it :) "Die Nachricht" ist eine deutsche Übersetzung (German translation) 7. Meeting in Mirkwood - Fandome: Lord of the Rings; Words: 3465; Status: break A story I really like but also the one that has undergone the most critique. I am trying to capture the style of Tolkien in some way and I have got responses, that I manged that, but of course there might still be mistakes in style. The story is listed in the C2 "worst of the worst LotR", no I am not hiding it. I am not hiding it because so far I did not get any good reason why it is there (except technical stuff which I changed), the owner of this C2 said my character was a Sue but until today he has never bothered to explain, which is why I am not ashamed of being listed there, it gave me lots of help regarding technical matters and unless I don´t get some explanation concerning the Sue-matter from this person I will continue writing. If you have any ideas to understand the problem of the C2-owner please feel free to tell me. I am having a break with this story at the moment, but there is more to come! 8. Because - Fandome: Chronicles of Narnia .; Words: 2766; Status: break This one started out when I read the books again. I am not a fan of the Susan/Caspian-pairing and I havn´t seen the second movie so this is more book-verse. I really nearly cried while writing this, the beginning is so sad. But still the idea captured me from the beginning on. I am having a break with this story at the moment, but there is more to come! 9. The Last Dance - Fandome: Cold Case; Words: 2893; Status: in progress "One Last Dance" was taken down and rewritten here. All reviews were saved! Again like "The Message" this fanfic will most likely become a little bit longer but of course I will take my time to write it. The story is inspired by a very odd and sad account I read. I fell in love with the origin of this fanfic so much that I will show it to you here: On an unspecified date in the late 1800's, a young woman checked into the Harrodsburg Springs Hotel in the small Kentucky town. She used a false name, and while no one knew her true identity, they recalled that she was beautiful. That night, as music played in the ballroom, the girl came downstairs and began dancing with various partners. Of course I made some changes and thought of a background story for the young girl. I would be most happy to hear oppinions about this story. This story is already finished, but I am still working on some language-issues here. 10. What a Child Does - Fandome: Without a Trace, Words: 8426, Status: in progress A beautiful idea, which Sapphira Elayne and me had while we met after some time. As we worked on some stories together already I decided to publish this one. It will be mainly about Martin and his adoptive daughter at first. And Vivian whom he asked for advice with children. I hope you will enjoy the story! | |||||||||
