Writing History: I started writing avidly in fourth grade. My friend Kristen and I had just read all the Rats of NIMH books and couldn't get enough. We wrote shameless fanfiction for an entire year, stories that seemed very long and involved to fourth graders. I finished my first novel in 8th grade, though looking back through it is quite interesting. For a 13 year old, it isn't honestly half bad. I built my writing skills in 9th grade with a variety of short writing projects. In 10th, 11th, and 12th grade, I took creative writing classes at my high school. Starting in 10th grade, I co-authored roughly a third of a novel entitled August with a friend of mine. It fell on the back burner when our lives got too busy and the revisions needed were extreme. I attempted NaNoWriMo in 2007, but since November was the month of my very first college finals, I was too stressed to get past about 6500 words. I've decided to rejoin fictionpress. This new account is a new start, welcoming a more mature set of topics and a better writing style. Practice makes perfect, of course.
