JANUARY 16TH, 2009: Became a member of FictionPress!

Welcome to Alysia Of The Pen's profile! [I am also on fanfiction.net with the same name, so more info and work is over there.]

Name: It actually does start with an A, but it's a bit less cool than Alysia (pronounced Ah-lee-see-ah). Call me whatever you want (within reason).

Age: Born on Sept. 21st.

Straight girl.

School: Near St. Louis, but in Illinois (I'm in college now).

Other things: I love a lot of stuff: writing, reading, singing, playing the piano, school, composing, dancing, and languages (have taken German and French, learned some Japanese here and there). I have a little sister, a dad and a new step-mom!

In regard to religion: I am a member of a branch church of the Mother Church in Boston, MA of Christian Science and am planning to take class instruction. I may not understand certain religious references and most medical references because I was raised in this religion, so I apologize for my ignorance in advance. My religion is very important to me, and I prefer not to be mocked for it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me through a PM or an email, but please keep your reviews for reviewing my work, not for personal comments.

In regard to gay/lesbian standpoints: I am a Christian Scientist, which could mean any number of things to you. It does not mean that I hate people who are gay or lesbian. I want to accept people as they are and see the good in them. Additionally, I am for sexuality over sensuality. So I don't mind gay/lesbian stuff, but I prefer to read it when it's well-written and not just smut (this is true for heterosexual pairings as well). I refuse to use derogatory comments about gay or lesbian people and hope that others do not use them against me, as has happened in the past.

In regard to writing itself: The main section! At the moment, I would describe myself as a private writer. I'm emotional and open with my family and close friends, but I am afraid of showing my family and friends my work because I am afraid they will not approve of what I write, on grounds of low quality or questionable moral content. I often plan out and begin stories, only to leave the unfinished for years on end, afraid to ruin them.

So I have decided that, to help myself become braver and a better writer, I will use this site. As previously stated, I do have an account on Fan Fiction.net already, but I encountered planning problems while writing my fan-fictions there, and have never completed (and probably will never complete) them, so I took them down and put up different work. However, I hope to use thrice as much of my brain to write some stories all the way through and post them.

Please post comprehensive and honest reviews: if you hurt my feelings with constructive criticism, I am the one in the wrong. Subjects and genres of what I write vary. I have a thing about titles that often guides my stories.
