Dreams From My Mother:

Some children plan their dream house or dream job. Alice's mother had her dream life planned out by the time she was fifteen years old. But, like many things in life, her life didn't go the way she planned. On the night of her death, her last wish before she left the world was for her dream life to be lived, and for Alice to live it. The problem is that that life isn't...Alice. Alice isn't a piano player, a singer, or an artist. She isn't planning on settling down young, and having a big family. Alice is a writer. She can think of a story for every object in the world. If she sees a homeless woman on the street in rainbow pants, she comes up with a story. She thinks she'll probably find a husband sometime in her life, and they might have some children, but she isn't planning on rushing into things. But now that she has made a promise to her mother, should she give all that up? What's more important: Respect for the dead and to her mother's last wish, or moving on, and living her own life?
