Author has written 4 stories for Young Adult. So since I am here, I might as well write a description... My name is Kristin. I'm 15 as of 6/15/09. I have awful, awful spelling, to the point that I have to 'spellcheck' my posts. My grammar isn't much better, but I try! I swear I do try! I'm also really bad at proofreading my post, I especially tend to make the 'your' 'you' mistake and leave out words. I don't know why I do that, but I do. I also tend to ramble...oh look I'm doing it now! Okay, I'll stop. I promise. Why do you write? Because I can. I enjoy writing. Everyday life is a story in it's own sense and I write to capture those feelings--those feelings of everyday anger, happiness, and depression; to produce something meaningful. I haven’t mastered the craft (not nearly!) But I am making progress. How did you come up with the ideas for your story? I remember coming up with my premise very clearly. I was vacationing at the beach, reading Twilight (FUCKEN LAME I KNOW?) Then I thought to myself: Why the hell would Bella want to become a vampire? Then I also thought to myself What if you were taking away from your own kind, against your free will because you were a freak? What would it be like to stand beside society longing to be a part of it? What would it be like to lose everything only to live a life of emptiness? Then everything just feel into place. When did you first start writing? I started writing at the beginning of my freshman year. I had some good (or what I thought were good) ideas for my story. At first my "story" was supposed to be a manga, but then I took a crack at writing and I found that I liked it a whole lot better. To be honest, it didn't start off as a serious story. It orginally was considered 'humor' and included the main character running around naked in the street chasing her brother. Oh, and at the end of the book that same character tries to fake her death by running into a UPS truck. I'm being serious too. What inspires you to write? Everything inspires me. Everything. Okay not everything, but a lot of random things--included but not limited to: Music, Everyday Life, Movies, Books, Simple Emotion, Questions, Friends and Family What are your favorite things to write about? I haven't limited myself to a genre, yet, nor do I plan to. The story I'm currently working on leans a little bit towards horror; it includes (Bloody) Romance, Teenage Drama and Suspense. I guess. What are dreams? (Career wise) Well, for one, I want to be a published author. I want to be a best-selling and I want to write something that can surpass the tests of time. Not to mention a kick-ass movie. I've always been a dreamer... | |||||||
