Hello there :) Thanks for stopping by! If you're looking for something to do, check out project Behind Locked Minds! Help us teens make a difference. Or, if not, you can check out some of my other stories. Or just read this profile... or click away from it. Do whatever you please :)

I am:

Maria

A teenager, a babysitter, a journalist, a closet writer

An aspiring author, psycologist, and english teacher
(as well as an art teacher, philosopher, singer, and
coffee-music shop owner- hey, a girl can dream, right?)

A dreamer, a believer, a cynic, and a procrastinator
(I'm not going to lie)

A sister, a daughter, a best friend, a worst enemy?

An optimistic pessimist, or, perhaps, a pessimistic optimist?

Basically, a normal girl with a few abnormal traits...
Described as loyal, crazy, quiet, mellow, stubborn,
secretive, trustworthy, odd, random and "artsy"

Hello, how are you?

For those who do not like that format, here's a little about me in paragraph form: I enjoy water because I am a pisces and fire because I'm a redhead (yes, that's my reasoning.) I want to learn how to drive so I can go on more adventures because adventures are amazing (and plus I think I'm the only one my age who hasn't learned to drive.) My life has to do with music, writing, reading, babysitting little kids, friends, and adventuring. My future goals are to write a decent book, go on an epic roadtrip with my friends that involves Disney Land, Canada, and Alaska, and to change the world (which will probably fail, because I'm ambitious but I've got no motivation whatsoever.) I like conversing with people. When I had to write an english paper about where I thought I would be in ten years, I was honest and wrote about my future life as a nomadic hobo. Thank you.

Books You Should Read If You're Amazing (Which Means I'm Talking To ALL Of You): The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (or any of his other books- his writing completes me); Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson (again, most of her books are amazing); If I Stay by Gayle Forman; Before I Die by Jenny Downham; Harry Potter series but JK Rowling (yes, I know, everyone in the world has already heard of these... but they're still good!); The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton; Dreamland by Sarah Dessen; Every book by Ellen Hopkins;Love You Hate You Miss You by Elizabeth Scott... there's more but I tortured you too much already :)

BEHIND LOCKED MINDS INFO-

Francilla Marie and I are gathering a composition of journal entries of all different backgrounds and types, from all different teenagers. And what we need is your help.
Info About Entries:
-They can be in any form- like a real diary entry, or like a story, or like a poem. It just has to be true and about your life, or about something really big that has affected your life in some way.

-We solemnly swear will remain unbiased, and will let most entries be put up, no matter the topic- that is, unless it gets too crazy and mature for our T rating.

-Your entries will go up anonymously, and we swear to the bottom of our hearts that you can trust us with your secrets. Your pen name won't be going anywhere, including the document we use to put them up.

-Write up your entry and copy-and-paste it to a PM and send it to either of us (or contact me if you'd like to DocX it.)

This is just a way to show the world who teenagers REALLY are, and not what the media seems to think. For some people, it's just a way to let things out without anybody knowing that it's really you.

Like the idea? Go ahead and send us an entry! Just PM it to me or Francilla, including a title for it and permission for us to publish it in a book- because who doesn't want BLM in a book form? If you do not want yours published, don't worry. Just tell us.
((We will not change any entries, though we will correct spelling and grammar. If you would not like us to do this, make sure to mention that- for all we really know, they might be something essential to your entries. We don't want to mess it up!))
Please send all entries with a title you would like it to go by

(PS- If I do not reply to your entry within a week, I give you permission to bug me about it. I've been busy lately, so I've been a bit negligent. I need the reminders!)

BLM POETRY CONTEST- As some of you may know, we're hoping to MAYBE one day publish this Behind Locked Minds thing as a book. Even if we don't... we're having a contest. You see, we want the ending of the book/FP story to end in a poem. We were thinking about how to do that, and we thought, "Hey, let's have a contest and see what the wonderful people of the world can come up with!" So yeah... here's the contest rules:
-It MUST be a poem
-Last words MUST be "behind locked minds"
-We prefer to have no cuss words in in (PLEASE!)
-BE CREATIVE!!
The deadline for this will be on October 31st, so you have about a month to come up with something. After that, we can't take any, because that's when we'll get our panel (aka us and some of our friends) to figure out which one we want to use. It'll all be unbiased. So, if you'd like to participate, please send us one! (we'll have all this info on our profiles for reference.) (If you are confused with this topic, feel free to PM one of us- we'll explain anything you might not understand :D)

My life is no fairy tale. If it were, I wouldn’t have to move, the guy wouldn’t have a girlfriend, and I’d be a shoe-in for the soccer team. I wouldn’t be in this situation, stuck between the guy I like and everybody else. Too bad real life sucks.

My sister was like every other kid- and like all the rest, she was never taken seriously. Yeah, Katy was just a normal ten-year-old girl until... well, she wasn't. And I guess that's where our story starts, at the beginning of what seemed like the ending.
