Author has written 4 stories for Supernatural, Romance, Fantasy, and Humor. I thought, since I haven't been updating all that often lately, that I would give you, the gentile reader (sure, why not?) some insight into how I do what I do. First, I take a roll of credit card receipt paper (I'm too poor for fancy-schmancy note-book paper.) and I wrap the end around a short pencil and then tape it in place. Then, like a scroll, I write down the paper, rolling it up on the shorter stick as I go. The paper is about three inches wide and each roll has 90 feet of paper on it. That being said, each chapter I write for a story (which I do by hand, because the quality is just better that way), is usually about an inch thick. It gets lengthened quite a bit when I take it and type it all up. As of this moment, for To Eyre is Human, Chapter 11 is about an inch thick, BUT- it's got a ways to go yet before it's done. it's kind of a big chapter, dealing with a busy day and busy evening. So, look forward to a big update in Eyre when it happens... though, how long that'll take, who can say? In Falling Down is pretty much done being written, but it's completely unedited and so most of the time for that is taken up either by working on Eyre instead, or by editing which, anyone will tell you, is mind-numbing. That story ISN'T finished though, and I'm still trying to hammer out what said ending will include. Obviously, since Eyre is still very much in the process of being written, I don't know how that'll end, either. I have a few ideas, but it kind of depends on how things develop before then. Well, now it's about midnight and I have to be up in a few hours and so I'm heading to bed. This is a long and rambly thing. This post here is why I write my stories by hand. Note! I'M ON A SHORT HIATUS. It's November, which, as we all know, is National Novel Writing Month. I'm taking part and you can follow my progress at www.katethegreat.blogsome.com I'm not working on To Eyre is Human right now because of NaNo, but I hope the next chapter will be up around Christmas time. Thanks, everyone! | |||||||||
