Author has written 5 stories for Supernatural, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and General. I'm Lily. I'm a sophomore at UC Berkeley (or will be as of August 2010), planning for an English major/Latin minor. (Yes, I took two semesters of Latin, and was mocked by my friends who were taking French, Spanish, Italian, and other languages which are actually useful in today's society. I can tell people that I am terribly sorry their family was slain when the enemy attacked te town, so that should come in handy.) My trusty old laptop's name is Friedrich...how I love him. I'm a Joss Whedon junkie...I love Buffy, Firefly, Serenity, and Dollhouse. They've probably influenced my writing some (then again, what hasn't?). I even buy Buffy comics. So fabulous. My bookshelf is ridiculous, which most of you can probably identify with. My favorite books...hm. Catch-22, Howl, the Lord of the Rings, The Last Unicorn, Good Omens, and pretty much anything else by either Terry Pratchett or Neil Gaiman. Young-adult-fiction-wise, I love the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr, Blood and Chocolate, and Hush, Hush most recently. I also read various and sundry series of less-than-stellar quality, just because I find them fun (ex: Vampire Academy, Blue Bloods, House of Night, etc. etc.) I like footprints in frost-covered grass, and jars of sand, and dried flowers and taking too many photographs. Trying to catch hold of ephemeral things. I have dictionaries for languages I don't even speak. I love the scent of rosemary. I wish I could've lived in the 1950s. I keep rosaries and write down scripture; not because I'm religious (I'm not, in any denomination) but because they're beautiful. I love demons, and angels, and the idea of good and evil and the impossibility of labeling anything or anyone as one or the other for sure. That shows up in my writing. A lot. I love to write. I love my characters (even the ones I hate) and I wish they were real. (Most of them. The psychotic ones can stay on paper) Hope you enjoy what you find. | |||||||
