Author has written 4 stories for Sci-Fi, Fantasy, General, and Life. I am a graduate student studying late imperial Chinese history. My biggest writing influences (and my favorite authors) are Joe Abercrombie, Stephen Baxter, George R. R. Martin, and R. Scott Bakker. I'm a fan of Terry Pratchett as well but I don't think he has influenced my writing style. Other authors I've read include Greg Bear, Kim Stanley Robinson, J. M. Coetzee, and dozens of non-fiction writers. I enjoy stories that incorporate gray morality or black-and-gray morality, low fantasy, less overt fantastic elements, good character development, and philosophical examination. Current Project: -A yet-unnamed (and unposted) fantasy story. Be assured that this piece will not contain dragons, elves, orcs, dwarves, vampires, good-versus-evil elements, prophecies, destinies, or any similarly hackneyed ideas and plot devices. | |||||||||
