Hokay. So. The name is Sonya.

As you can see from my username, I'm Asian. Chinese, if you want me to be specific.

I'm mostly a reader, not a writer. I mean, I can write, and I'm a major grammar freak (I'm really weird - I prefer editing to writing), but writing just doesn't appeal to me as reading does. Plus, I'm just not that creative. And I seriously have like the worst A.D.D. when it comes to writing. The stuff on here is pretty much just creative writing assignments I had for English classes.

And as I am now in college, I have no time whatsoever to even think about writing anything.

So anyways, these are just some random facts about me:

Likes: God. Reading. Music. Shopping. FOOD. Shoes. Facebook. Friends. Laughing. Singing. Rollercoasters. Concerts. Good grammar. Romantic comedies. A capella. BBC period pieces/book miniseries and the AMAZING GUYS IN THEM. Inspiring based-on-a-true-story sports movies. Ice cream. DEMETRI MARTIN (AKA the most brilliant comedic genius ever). Violin. Funny people. Dr Pepper. Tennis. Calvin and Hobbes. Sky blue. Disney. Skiing. Cheesecake. Spicy food. Ribs. Languages (surtout le francais). Cool accents (basically any non-American accent). Noodles. Traveling. Little kids.

Dislikes/Pet Peeves: Bugs. Alcohol. Racism/stereotypes. Clowns. Stupid questions. Scary/gory movies. Narcissism. IM talk. Humidity. People blocking the way by walking too slow. Reckless drivers. Coconuts. Running. Dirty dancing. Drama between friends. Overplayed music. Annoying/obnoxious people. Writing essays. Dark chocolate. Overconfident/condescending people. 20 mph gusts of wind (not uncommon occurence where I live). Twilight fanatics. No changes. Hiking.

Favorite TV Shows: Flight of the Conchords, The Mentalist (I'm such a Jisbon shipper =) ), Glee (mostly for the music and Darren Criss - the actual plot annoys me sometimes), The Office (I'm like 3 seasons behind...whoops), The Big Bang Theory, Important Things With Demetri Martin

Favorite Books: The Book Thief (BEST BOOK EVER), The Kite Runner, The Hunger Games series (the last one was a bit of a letdown...but still good), The Truth About Forever, Harry Potter series (I've only recently gotten into them...way late, I know), A Great and Terrible Beauty series, The Host (So much better than Twilight. It actually has a point! Haha.), Life of Pi, My Sister's Keeper...

My favorite classics are Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice = Persuasion (can't decide which one I like better), North and South, Tess of the D'Urbervilles, The Scarlet Letter, and Crime and Punishment. =)

Music is a big part of my life. I love alternative/indie/emo/rock/pop-punk/whatever-this-genre-is music. I could probably list a bunch of favorite bands, but I won't since it changes pretty frequently and the list is extremely long.

I play violin, sing in a college a capella group, and used to play piano before I quit.

I also really love musicals. Their songs make me happy and I can't resist belting out the words. =)

I am a major procrastinator. Especially when it comes to writing essays. But I've learned to deal with it and I actually write better under pressure as a result haha.

...Um yeah so I'm basically a boring person. But it's okay, I've accepted it.

And now...I leave you with an awesome poem by Emily Dickinson that nicely sums up why I love reading and the power of words. =)

There is no frigate like a book
To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry.

This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of toll;
How frugal is the chariot
That bears a human soul!

Have a great day kiddies! Feel free to chat me up by PMing! =D
