You're more likely to know out where I am with a story this way... ;)

ABOVE/below/Begin:

As an amateur writer who writes fervently and often, I shouldn't get queasy when confronted with a blank space intended for written introductions. Well, this is the space intended for written introductions, and I'm thoroughly 'queased.' Please like me!

I'm a humongo history/english/film/pop culture dork. Like, HUGE. I have these useless bits of information floating around in my head that I sometimes spill out onto other people and that might show up in my stories. A lot. It usually goes something like,

Me(the Author) plus You(the Reader) plus National Geographic(the Reference) plus Copious Amounts of Sugar(the Catalyst) equals Bad News(Cue Rilo Kiley) & Writing!(the FP account)

But I'm not that formulaic.

In most of stories my protagonists will probably be black girls. Black girls who are (get this) complex! For once I want to be the default. When reading my stories, you enter into my world (too possessive?), and you will hopefully learn to subscribe to the "Black Chicks Rule, Too!" mentality, which will scatter, I assure you, in the ways of the spores.

Because I'm of mixed heritage, my stories will more than likely feature interracial relationships. Don't worry. I won't put emphasis on the fact that they're interracial because pointing out superficial differences like race is a) stupid, b) irrelevant, and c) not very progressive. All relationships will probably just happen of their own volition. However, some of the situations will imply racial/cultural differences between the couples because the heroines are after all black chicks, of which people like to remind us considerably.

We Are Not A Monolith. We are (relatively) normal.

Once There Was A Fish: August 22, 2009

One energetic, optimistic girl named Eloise, who reads like a maniac and prays like a saint, meets one rational-minded, complicated boy named Guy (pronounced French Gee). His loner tendencies have discouraged people before her, and her cheery disposition has turned more people off than on before him. They are total opposites. Despite the mild hatred between them, however, can the pair ever be friends? Or, if the friendship is too much to ask for, can they just be civil neighbors to each other? It's the classic boy-meets-girl story! Minus the cheesy set-up and glaring grammatical errors. Interracial but Not Emphasized...R&R!
