Author has written 2 stories for Supernatural.
I love writing but find it difficult to structure a novel. I'm working on a book called Beacon right now and I'm planning on completing it by the end of 2012. I began this story on November 1st as my Nanowrimo novel. As of November 29th I have completed 52,000 words of it, but there's still so much to do. I'm using a couple of books like "Book in a Month" by Victoria Lynn Schmidt and "Structuring Your Novel" and "Building Believable Characters" (Writer's Digest Books) to help me once the backbone is complete.
As a kid I always had this idea that authors sat down at their computer or typewriter in front of a bay window looking out onto the ocean with a cat in their lap and just wrote books from beginning to end. Now I know it's not like that for everyone (maybe a blessed few!) and that you have to get what you can onto the paper and then work it like clay. It is complicated, this writing thing. I hate it and love it at the same time.
Thanks for reading my stories (though Blood Kiss isn't finished and is on indefinite hold because I really want to complete Beacon.) Thank you for your insights, reviews, corrections and when you feel it's deserved, praise.
