Author has written 6 stories for Fantasy. The day I was born, the New York Times headline read "A Very Special Day". It was, of course, because the statue of liberty was getting a face lift, but I try to let it get to my head. Two weeks later, I tried to fly out of my bedroom, but had already forgotten so much that I fell after a short distance and was found by my parents. Not one to give up easily, I altered my goals, searching instead for flight through circus acrobatics and eternal youth through molecular biology. I'm now a genetics grad student at Stanford, and play on trapezes and ropes in my spare time, and although I won't say whether I have reached my goal or not, I regularly get mistaken for a teenager. My stories, obviously, are very heavily influenced by J.M. Barrie. He was my first favorite author and probably still is. Other favorites include Jorge Luis Borges, Salman Rushdie, Tom Stoppard, Mark Helprin, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Jasper Fforde, and much of the Western Canon. | |||||||
