Lotsa stuff you don't care about here--scroll down to find le fics. I'll probably slash and burn this bloated blather-fest sometime soon.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OK, quick rundown on my fic "arcs"--they seem to come in pairs, but not always.
FF VII: Venus Gospel, The Thief of Hell, and Elemental According to the Mouse all occur in the same "arc"...Venus Gospel is my first ever fic...Elemental According to the Mouse is really a tag, but a cute one, and not anything in the same league of seriousness as the first two. The Thief of Hell can be read on its own, but works better if you read Venus Gospel first. Seems a lot of people like Venus Gospel. Post FF VII, lotsa Cid, Shera, some Vincent and some Cloud.
FF VII: The Ninth Silence and Darkness, Silent Light are a very very dark, slightly twisted/AU where Cid didn't return after Cloud sent everyone to find their reason to fight. Mostly Cid, some Vincent, and some Cloud.
FF VII: Genesis of Sky and Puss in Boots occur in the same timeline, but are unrelated enough that they are not sequential and stand alone. Puss in Boots is about Reeve and Cait Sith, occurs during FF VII after the whole party has joined up, and Genesis of Sky is about...Cid, has a good amount of Cait Sith too. Puss in Boots is part of it because the idea fit in well with Genesis of Sky but had no place in the story. Lotsa Cid, Shera, and plentiful Cait Sith with a touch of Reeve.
FF VII: Cid Gets His Tea could I suppose happen in any canon "arc". Lotsa Cid having caffiene cravings :)
ST: TNG: Watching the Sunset may be rendered AU in the near future :P If it does, there may be a story that'll come out of it. We'll see.
Real Ghostbusters: Everything is seperate, but all could easily stand on the same timeline and in canon. A sequel to one is running around the plot-bunny hutch... Egon gets his butt kicked a lot, but I try to give everyone some showtime.
LotR: All BOOK canon...
Metal Gear Solid/LotR: Eh heh. Solid Frodo is cut up into bite sized pieces so you can read it a little at a time, at your leisure. It's a lot of fun. Go take a look, even if it's not done yet. Since it's in little chapters, it's easy to take a break and go to something else and return, or quit if you don't like it. I do indeed plan on finishing it, when my muses return...
X-Men: Logan Prays for Death is a movie-verse, one shot...
MST: Go to my site if you wanna see it, it's in the Library under Etcetera.
Transformers G1: Teeth of the Lab Rat...well...it's probably got some deep continuity trouble, but that shouldn't make too much nevermind; I tried. No AU or anything like that. Themis56 helped me a good bit with it (she being a Jazz-phile and me being a Perceptor-phile...I needed...er...Jazz lessons ;) Dust to Rust... is canon, and Silver Thread could be considered canon, if one wished to think of it that way. It's definatly not AU. The last one has a bit of Perceptor, Ratchet, Wheeljack, and Dinobots. Blame for the idea can be landed squarely in the lap of the inmates of The Padded Cell, especially Kevona. Starchaser, Icy Factor, and Skycat helped me with the title...forgot to mention that.
And...in the works: more Solid Frodo, possibly Relative Absolution and another RGB, MAYBE another ST: TNG depending on what happens with Star Trek: Nemesis, and there's a good chance some more G1 Transformer bunnies will attack me...I feel duty bound to write Perceptor-fic since I don't see many other people doing it...
A couple author's notes...
A little odd note...someone observed that when I wrote Venus Gospel the fact that I had pneumonia at the time probably affected it. Very perceptive...but the same is not true of The Thief of Hell. When I wrote that, I had no idea of what the limb-twisting condition was about or called. Odd that I do now, a good while later. It's called dystonia...
Hmm. I feel the need to make something clear. Some of my fics are very dark. The Ninth Silence is so dark it's more like pitch black. HOWEVER...I do not get any kicks out of tormenting favorite characters. I find it HARD to write...in fact, Darkness, Silent Light, the epilogue to The Ninth Silence is probably the single hardest peice of fiction I have ever written because it is Cid's view on the awful stuff that happened in The Ninth Silence. If favorite characters get their butts handed to them in my fics, it's because I "paint" with a very intense "brush". I turn the contrast up very high...and that means people get hurt, things get ugly, but in the service of the Purpose, the plot and reason to write the story.
If there's not a good enough reason to write it, I don't write it.
Hrmm. I ramble more. The movie just brought it to mind a little more forcefully than usual, and some friends kinda influenced me, but I have been a Tolkienite for...ermmm...lemme see...13 years? I don't remember. Maybe it'd be painfully obvious if you read the little bitty fic The Road Goes Ever On...but...READ THE BOOKS BLAST IT!!...the LotR section is scaring the wits outta me and I again loose all faith in FF.net...I mean, really...it does become increasingly ridiculous when authors have to lable their fics with *no slash* warnings! Seriously...is it right that an author has to tell potential readers that their fic follows canon relationships?! It's like a sick paranoia.
Minor note on my writing LotR fic...Mostly been done because someone suggested it to me...Tolkien wrote all there was to write from Bilbo's eleventy-first birthday to Sam coming home, and I don't feel any need, ability, nor desire to add to what is already a complete story. Maybe something before, something after...but not during. It isn't possible in my sight, AU isn't my cup, though I've written an AU (twisted) once or twice.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Rants you don't care about but I'm gonna say anyway...(Scroll for a bit if you don't wanna read it.)

I can stand very mild shounen-ai and slash...really, I can, though usually it's not my cup. As long as it is respectful to canon and the characters, and not graphic. Say...one author I know wrote a character gay. This is fine, since he doesn't have any canon attachments (yet)...and he did it respectfully (and I have confidence that this writer could write any canon attachments in a way that is respectful and plausible as well). On the other hand...I see writers write characters gay who DO have canon attachments, and instead of handling those canon attachments respectfully, they make them into The Witch-Beast from Hell or kill them. This is absolute laziness on the part of the author, a mark of someone who doesn't care enough about the characters in their chosen fandom to write them with a respectful interpretation, or worse, the mark of someone who just dislikes a character and turns her evil or makes her die a hideous death just because. The second I hate the most, but lazy writers irk me too, especially if otherwise they show promise. I wonder if any of these people have ever heard of platonic relationships...

Basically writers like that make me think all they're out to do is have their little boy-loving kicks without giving a rat's backside about any other character that gets in the way of their nyucks.

I'll be right up front: I'm a card carrying "Official Cid/Shera 'Shipper" ::flashes card, making visible her "Official Cid Highwind Fangirl, Non-Drooling Type" card::. This doesn't mean I can't stand to see Cid with someone else...but it does mean you better be bloody CERTAIN you treat Shera with respect. She is NOT a Witch-Beast from Hell, she is NOT the embodiment of all that is wrong with the female of the species, and she's not cannon fodder. Have some respect for canon. Would Cid live with someone as long as he did that was the absolute most hideous example of female nastiness on the Planet? He's not stupid, and in canon, he does respect her (funny way of showing it, granted)...he insults her abilities, not her, and even then he was always perfectly aware that she was quite capable, just a bit on the slow side. And where in canon did Shera ever once turn into a clingy, whiny, catty, bratty, monster of a woman (when canon doesn't even say to what extent she cares about Cid)? Point it out please, I'd like to see it! And if you can't, and still write her like that (or simply kill her off) just so Cid and Vincent or Tifa or Aeris or Yuffie or Scarlet or Sephiroth or Cloud or Chocobo Sage or whoever can get together, then you are simply lazy, or worse, character assasinating because you don't like her.

Face the wrath of the Shera Protection Act with fear and trepidation!

The same goes for Tifa and Aeris, o thou writers of Zack shounen-ai. This goes for Rosie o thou CLUELESS writers of Sam slash ("That's an insult if you like"...::slips out her card designating her as "Respectful Samwise Gamgee Fan"::). ::Makes motions toward Estella Bolger and Diamond of Long Cleave while she's at it.::

If yer gonna do it, make it believable, don't drop the book/game/story when something (or rather SOMEONE) gets in the way.

OK, rant over. You can open your eyes now, or stop scrolling.
