Once again, I've pretty much given up on G Gundam fanfics. G fans don't seem to understand that the story makes a fic good, not the pairing. I've seen so many fanfics out there that all the author is really trying to do is prove that Character A goes best with Character B, but writes them both so repuslively out of character that they prove how much the two don't belong. I've seen two many reviews that praise the couple, but give no insight on story or characterization or formatting or flow or grammer or even the ability to write. It irratates me to no end. Thus far, my proudest moments as a fanfic author have been skimming over reviews I've gotten with the message, in concise terms: 'I don't like this couple, I never will, but I enjoyed this fic.' THAT tells me I'm a good writer, when you enjoy the fic not on the basis of whose names were used, but no the basis that it was a good story. I'll still check in on my favorite G authors from time to time, 'Straya, Sporky, Athena, ect. but on the whole, I find the Harry Potter section safer for reading. I'm a rather rabid Ron/Hermione fan, but just spent the last five hours reading a Snape/Hermione fic. Why? Because it was good.
