--About me--

Name: Kay Hau (pronounced Kay How or Kay Ha-oo)

My Writing: Mostly original fiction, some Neopets fiction (published in the Neopian Times under the username appaloosa500), some fanfiction (fanfiction.net/~kayhau). Nothing I would ever get paid for.

Writing Style: I apologize in advance, but I'm very much a 'what I want, when I want to' sort of author, meaning I can go full charge with a story, having a new chapter out every day for a month, then easily drop it and ignore it for a year or more, sometimes into infinity and beyond. If I happen to do that with a story you like, please feel free to flame me and/or hassle me for new chapters. If I drop a story and don't get any feedback, honestly I'll probably assume it wasn't that good to begin with and forget about it.

Update Frequency: I intend to get something out every week, but there may be a couple weeks between updates for individual stories. Also (as unfortunately you've probably noticed), I don't spend that much time on editing. I write the chapter, read it through a couple times to catch the more obvious mistakes, and post it, usually within a few hours from start to finish. If I write myself into a hole, which happens quite often, I'll go back and rewrite chapters as needed. My chapters are usually pretty short, so hopefully I won't get into too much trouble doing things this way.

Opinion of Reviews: LOVE THEM!! I will reply to every review (except anonymous, but I love them anyway and will try to answer any questions in author's notes) and take ALL comments/questions/ideas into consideration! I know I have to work more on my writing, and the best way is with feedback! Also, I have joined the Review Revolution! I vow to reply to every signed review made to any of my stories, regardless of the story's status, age, or total review count! I further vow to review every story I follow for more than three chapters, every idea I find original and enjoyable, and every story I read with a zero review count!

--My Original Stories--

Dragon's Child: Aurou is the legendary land of dragons. However, ten years ago it turned out to be not so legendary when the king and queen of that land arrived in Valan looking for their son, riding the backs of golden dragons, with skin like chocolate, hair like honey, and eyes of gold. And thus the search began for the Auroyan prince, and continued long after the disheartened parents had to head back to their mysterious homeland. To this day collectors and hunters examine every child they come across for tell-tale Auroyan traits, and one day an orphan stablehand named Rice wakes up with his eyes having turned golden. On temporary hiatus while upload other stories.

Tales of Lore: A series of stories revolving around a white-haired child with the power of healing and a strange connection to plants and animals. Lore was taken from his family at the age of six and raised as the king's pet and a symbol of the kingdom. Tales of Lore 1 is divided into four parts, the first from his guardian's POV, the second from his best friend's, the third is everyone's reaction to the events ending the second part and his friend's invitation to join them, and the last part finally brings the story to a head. Tales of Lore 2 is about a selfish princess who falls in love with Lore, or at least the idea of him, meanwhile Maya (his best friend) breaks his heart when he asks her to marry him. (Lore is among the OCs I've included in my Search for the Jewels series on fanfiction.net.) On temporary hiatus while upload other stories.

Chosen Powers: The Training School is for children with special abilities, generally falling into three categories: Physical (involving body), Mental (involving mind) Phenomenon (control of outside elements); which in turn fall into four types: Draining, Controlled, Uncontrolled, and Limitless. Vision, a girl with healing abilities, and Dyna, a girl with an uncontrollable power of destruction, are recruited by Hawk, a boy who can fly and talk to animals, and Fen, a very strange boy who can see the abilities themselves. The Training School proves to be a great place and everything they ever dreamed of, but the girls get suspicious of something darker going on when Fen disappears and no one asks questions, and apparently its not the first time. On temporary hiatus while upload other stories.

Empath: Reville is an empath, a very rare person with the ability to feel what other people are feeling. A prize in any court, with their ability of sniffing out the untrustworthy and disloyal, plus a handy lie detector. But Reville is headstrong and proud, and refuses to work for a king who disregards his advice and treats him as an ignorant tool. The child, all of eight years old, runs away, but falls into the hands of the great thief and Clan Chieftain, Lord Naphdar. (Reville is among the OCs I've included in my Search for the Jewels series on fanfiction.net.)

Echo: The leaders of World Intelligence have discovered alien life! Particularly, they've met with the leaders of the Liquidite alien race, pacifist shapeshifters. But the WI leaders have something more immediately important than universal peace - one of their own is plotting a betrayal, and as their top general they have no way to stop him. Unless the Liquidites lend them one of their own? Not quite understanding the situation, the Liquidite leaders send them the best shapeshifter on the planet... who just happens to be a 14 year old named Echo. Can a pacifist shapeshifter with absolutely zero training take down the top general of WI? Or will he be the one taken down before he even gets started? Dropped.

Dreamer: "My friends call me Dreamer. Strange nickname, I know. But actually well-founded. See, as far back as I can remember, I've had dreams of being a prince. So detailed too. I used to believe they were memories, not dreams. But that's plain stupid. I'm no prince. I'm a slave. No magic or superpowers, but this story does take place in a different world from ours. The story is told by Dreamer, an eloquent slave/pickpocket who, as long as he can remember, has dreamed of being a prince. But, when an ambassador from a neighboring country appears, and along with him the princess from Dreamer's memories, he'll find himself trapped in a web of violence and politics that no one has any intention of letting him escape from. Dropped.

Forgotten / Amnesiac Princess: To come soon, title may change. The princess of the magical, shapeshifting race the Forgottens is kidnapped by the enemy and her memory wiped. The crown princess of the kingdom that kidnapped her takes the Forgotten as a servant.

Dragon Heart: To come soon. Corda is a normal girl (as most stories start), living in a world where 'fairies' are hunted down and enslaved. After going 18 years living a normal life, with normal friends, and normal parents, the annual day of testing comes around - and Corda is pulled out of line, accused of being the most legendary and powerful of all 'fairy species': a dragon. Dragons haven't been seen in decades, and soon scientists and breeders the world over are anxious to get their hands on the young pureblood female. Note, this story may contain dark elements.

Magic Tears: To come soon. There was once a kingdom where the princess' tears could grant wishes. The prince could fly, and the queen could heal. The stories say the family was related to elves, and they were true, though the blood was much thinner than it once was. But this is the story of that princess' pet, a strange goblin-like creature who protected her ferociously and never let her out of his sight. In truth, a pureblood elf in disguise, sworn to protect the princess in return for sparing him a life of slavery, who had the misfortune to fall in love with the wonderful girl but is unable to speak to her, or even show her his true face.

Readers: To come soon. In a world where the occasional child has an ability to communicate with or manipulate something unusual, and as usual the government snatches up these children as valuable resources. Nina understands plants, Liam speaks with animals, Aria controls the weather. But the real prizes are Kei, who can read inanimate objects, and his twin Sora, who just might be able read people (either that, or he's one amazingly intuitive kid and a freakishly effective liar) - now if only Instructor Wilde could catch them.

Duty to Crown and Family: To come soon. Arthur Slate is a bodyguard, the crown princess' bodyguard, and a very good one at that. But in truth, he is a she. Artemis was forced to replace her brother on his death, as her people, called 'elves' and numbering at less than thirty left, are required to provide a male guardian to every personage of royal blood in the kingdom of Vitania or face genocide. She has successfully kept her secret for nineteen years, when the king's cousin Lord Thorton calls her out and exposes her. He'll keep the secret, at least he says he will, on one condition. He wants her. Note, this story may contain dark elements. (Artemis is among the OCs I've included in my Search for the Jewels series on fanfiction.net.)
