A MESSAGE TO READERS:

What you call being 'too lazy to review' is what we call 'a flame to the pages' as the writers. That one minute or two that you felt 'too lazy' to review is another minute of creeping discouragement that all writers feel as they begin to think...

"Why am I even here…?"

"What's even the point of continuing?"

"My skills must be terrible…"

"No one cares for my story…"

"I'll never be a good writer..."

"I quit."

These are only a few thoughts that go through every writer's head- that go through MY head- when we put out a chapter/story with all our heart and soul within, and we sit there…and sit…and wait…and not a single person says even a word.

If you're not a writer, you have NO IDEA how much that hurts…

If you ARE a writer, then I'm sure you know just how great it feels when someone is kind enough to leave a heartwarming and encouraging review, and you read it, smiling while thinking…'Wow…I did it…'

So, why not give fellow writers the same luxury here?

Too many times I've seen epic and utterly beautiful works of literary art fall to pieces before finally being abandoned due to the terrible discouragement that the lack of reviews can cause.

Sometimes, it is so severe that the very writer himself decides to quit, denying the world his skills of writing that I'm quite sure others would have deeply enjoyed.

So…

Just one minute, that's all it takes. Just a few gentle taps of the fingers on your keyboard, a few seconds or so of your time, and your words can SAVE a writer from a dark demise.

Do me a favor: Go find a story, ANY story, anywhere here on Fictionpress, and see if you can help it. If it has very little/no reviews at all, just check it out, and say whatever comes to mind.

And enjoy the thought in mind that you could have just SAVED that story, with just a few taps of the keyboard.

ODDS AND ENDS ABOUT ME:

(Like anyone really cares...I'm just having fun here!)

My Nicknames: (I still instinctively respond to all of them)

Corky -by my Aunt V. (thus the Corkybookworm ;-D)

Coya -by my Aunt T.

Coodie Coo -by my Gma N. and Gpa T.

Missy Lie Loo/ Sissy Lie Loo/Missy Loo -by my mom

I am the oldest of five children( 3 boys and 2 girls) and two miscarriges( 1 boy and 1 girl).

My parents have only ever been married to each other and they're still together.

I have three aunts and six uncles.

I have three living pairs of grandparents and two great gpas and one great gma.

I have...tons (not going to even try to count) of cousins.

Characteristics:

I'm odd, unusual, and out of the ordinary.

I deffinatly can't SPELL!

I LOVE to write.

I LOVE to read. (top 4 authors are Magaret Peterson Haddix, Gail Carson Levine, Shannon Hale, & Terri Blackstock!!!!!)

When I'm home, I have to go to my grandparents house to use the internet. (I usually just walk... It's only 2 miles!)

I'm a TOTAL Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys bug! ALL THE WAY!!!!! Like books, games, tv shows, EVERYTHING!

I'm VERRRRRRRRY precice about what I say and how I say it- more so in the terms of writing, but I sorta do it in my speech as well. I can literally spend an hour trying to work on one sentence. Ha, and when you get me and Sassyk100 together...yesh, we spend HOURS working together on the smallest of details!!! I love you Sassy!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like to learn new words and I'm always looking for a new way to expand my vocabulary.

I love Spanish and LATIN! (actually I love almost all launguages but esp. Sp and L, and I'm not to fond of French...I don't know why? Ironic thing is...I'm took French One last year...I had taken all the Spanish that they offered, but I'm back into Spanish agian for college!!!!!!!!!!!)

I am attending Berea College!!!!

I'm one of those CHRISTIANS!!

I have only one set of shelves in my room to hold all my books (I have so many some're currently living on the floor!) This doesn't include my ND and HB shelves, which are too small to be shelves anyway...and, yes, ND and the HB get their own shelves...I know, I'm a dork.

I love to cook. My Fruit Pizza is my trademark. (If you're interested, just ask, and I'll send the recepie. It's GARUNTEED to never be enough...YUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!) Um, I just recently took on my gma's Cheesy Vegitable Soup recipe (UH-MAZINGNESS!) And if you have a recepie that you'd like to share, PLEASE do! I love recieving recepies!!

I have only 3 BEST friends in the world, and I love them with all my heart!!!

I've never had a boyfriend -ever. (...doesn't mean that I can't dream :-D )

I Fantisize a LOT!

I'm constantly bugged my story plots running through my mind. Oh, but my dad just got me a cool green journal that I now write them down in!!

I like poetry -writing and reading it, but...yeah, I'm not all that great... I'm working on it.

Four dollars is gold to me. (I can get a new ND and HB original Super Mystery from Amazon!!!)

My favorite color is GREEN!! Blue runs in close second, but it depends on the shade. Oh, I love colors! It's so hard to choose favorites...except for greeeeeeeeennnnnnnnn!

I like to watch the good shows that they used to play on T.V. I feel for the kids who grow up with...Ant Farm? Seriously dude? What happened to Even Stevens and Kim Possible, Red Skelton and The Dick Van Dyke Show and stuff like that???

I saw this on a few other people's profiles and thought that it was helpful, so Ima try it...

Okay so here's a really neat e-mail that my cousin sent me. I just wanted to share it because I thought it was funny and cute, so here it is:

FAKE FRIENDS vs. REAL FRIENDS

FAKE FRIENDS: Never ask for food.
REAL FRIENDS: Are the reason you have no food.

FAKE FRIENDS: Call your parents Mr / Mrs
REAL FRIENDS: Call your parents DAD/MOM

FAKE FRIENDS: Never seen you cry
REAL FRIENDS: Cry with you

FAKE FRIENDS: Borrow your stuff for a few days then give it back
REAL FRIENDS: Keep your stuff so long they forget it's yours

FAKE FRIENDS: Know a few things about you
REAL FRIENDS: Could write a book about you with direct quotes
from you

FAKE FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that is what the
crowd is doing
REAL FRIENDS: Will kick the whole crowds butt that left you

FAKE FRIENDS: Would knock on your front door
REAL FRIENDS: Walk right in and say 'I'M HOME!'

FAKE FRIENDS: Are for awhile
REAL FRIENDS: Are for life

FAKE FRIENDS: Will talk bad to the person who talks bad about you.
REAL FRIENDS: Will knock the person out that talked bad about you

FAKE FRIENDS: Would ignore this
REAL FRIENDS: Will send this to all their real friends and hope
to get it back!

If you were killed today, I'm sorry I wouldn't be able to come to your
funeral, because I'd be in jail for killing the person who did it.

First, I wanted to let you know th at I love you to death & think you
are amazing!

Second, if I don't get this back I understand ...

I have a game for you. Once you read this letter, you must send it to
6 (Hah I changed it... 14 seems to high) people that you really care
about, including the person that sent
it to you.

If you receive at least 4 (changed this too. lol) back then you are

*AMAZING*

Not that I believe anything bad will happen to me if I don't, but hey why not? Honestly, I don't interpret that verse as meaning "if you don't post this, you're going to the pits!" I really think God could care less what happens in our little internet lives, whether we post this or not. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean to trash Him or His ways and then turn around and claim that you're an honest Christian. You've got to live in Christ, but that doens't mean you have to re-post every "I believe!!!" that you come across

Did you know that 98% of teenagers will not stand up for God, and 93% of the people that read this won’t repost it?

Jesus had no servants, yet they called him Master...

He had no degree, yet they called him Teacher...

He had no medicine, yet they called him Healer...

He had no army, yet kings feared him...

He won no military battles, yet he conquered the world...

He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him...

He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today

Feel honored to serve such a leader who loves us...

If you believe in the God, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost

YOUR GIRL SIDE:

You wear lip gloss/chap stick - I am hopelessly addicted to chapstick!
You love to shop – In BOOKSTORES! YEAH!!!!!!! I could spend all day there--I have...
You wear eyeliner- No. Unless I'm dressing up, which I try to make a rare occasion--like Christmas concert for band rare.
You wear the color pink- I actually don't mind it, but deffinatly can't handle ALL pink.
You go to your mom for advice- Duh! Mom Know's Best!!!
You consider cheerleading a sport.- Who would? Freaks...
You hate wearing the color black- Half of my closet is black (it's a very common T-Shirt color); but I don't do ALL black...that would be a bit much.
You like hanging out at the mall-We don't have a mall in our town, and if we did...who cares? I'd rather read or write.
You like getting manicures and/or pedicures - I did that once; the massages weren't bad, but the painting of the fake nails...(shudder)bad memories there...
You like wearing jewelry - When I get dressed up, again as rare an occasion as possible; but I do have a ring that my aunt gave me that I LOVE to wear. It's simply a band with a faded rose on it. Also, I like necklaces too. Usually I have my silver cross necklace (I got the most beautiful one for Graduation!) or a black one with a tiny butterfly on it from Dollywood. I have a few others, but they aren't worn as commonly.

Hilarious: (Not that I would actually do it, but...)

Ways to annoy others on an elevator:

1) Crack open your briefcase or handbag, peer Inside and ask "Got enough air in there?"

2) Stand silent and motionless in the corner facing the wall without getting off.

3) When arriving at your floor, grunt and strain to yank the doors open, then act as if you're embarrassed when they open themselves.

4) Greet everyone with a warm handshake and ask him or her to call you Admiral.

5) Meow occasionally.

6) Stare at another passenger for a while. Then announce in horror: "You're one of THEM" - and back away slowly

7) Say -DING at each floor.

8) Say "I wonder what all these do?" And push all the red buttons.

9) Make explosion noises when anyone presses a button.

10) Stare, grinning at another passenger for a while, then announce: "I have new socks on."

11) When the elevator is silent, look around and ask: "Is that your beeper?"

12) Try to make personal calls on the emergency phone.

13) Draw a little square on the floor with chalk and announce to the other passengers: "This is my personal space."

14) When there's only one other person in the elevator, tap them on the shoulder, then pretend it wasn't you.

15) Push the buttons and pretend they give you a shock. Smile, and go back for more.

16) Ask if you can push the button for other people but push the wrong ones.

17) Hold the doors open and say you're waiting for your friend. After a while, let the doors close and say "Hi Greg, How's your day been?"

18) Drop a pen and wail until someone reaches to help pick it up, then scream: "That's mine!"

19) Bring a camera and take pictures of everyone in the lift.

20) Pretend you're a flight attendant and review emergency procedures and exits with the Passengers.

21) Swat at flies that don't exist.

22) Call out "Group hug" then enforce it.)

1. Corridor » reviews
I had major writer's block and D. G. Weber gave me a prompt: You are walking down a long dark corridor, and something makes you turn around. You suddenly realize that was the worst mistake of your life. I didn't EXACTLY stick to the prompt...but I dearly love how this turned out. I've never had as much fun writing a piece as I have this. Please read and review it for me!
Fiction: General - Rated: K+ - English - Adventure/Suspense - Chapters: 2 - Words: 3,271 - Reviews: 2 - Updated: 5-18-13 - Published: 11-5-12 - Complete
2. Babysitting Grandma »
Second piece of the third part of the Eng project. This is actually a Creative Nonfiction piece, but it's very similar to a fiction piece. Either way it's a short story so to speak, but based in reality. It speaks from my point of view and is again on the topic of Alzheimer's. I've included the introduction with this piece instead of for A Child Again, but they both share it.
Fiction: Essay - Rated: K+ - English - Tragedy/Family - Chapters: 2 - Words: 3,005 - Published: 5-18-13 - Complete
3. Home »
This is the introduction and second part to the English project. It's my views and memories of home. Please feel free to send me a message telling me what it reminds you of or what home means to you. I'd love to know.

4. In the Moment »
This is the introduction to my most recent English project which was a collecion of pieces that I am uploading as separate parts to FP as they are mostly unrelated, but I wanted to upload this anyway as it is a part of the project and it is writing.
Fiction: Essay - Rated: K - English - Chapters: 2 - Words: 947 - Published: 5-18-13 - Complete
5. Aaron and Erin's Candle reviews
Personal experience poem that I wrote for my Creative Writing class. I really don't like it at all, and think someone should shred it. If I wasn't such a packrat, I would. Please take a look and let me know how I can improve it. True story, terribly written, and very confusing. Who is brave enough to try it?
Poetry: Life - Rated: K+ - English - Tragedy/Family - Chapters: 1 - Words: 382 - Reviews: 1 - Published: 11-15-12 - Complete
6. The Nightlight » reviews
(Very) Short Story in my new category called ACT Prep Writing (explained in the author's note). A prisoner is escaping captivity.

7. The Beach Scene
Short Story. The "final" draft is presented, though I still feel that it isn't it's complete. The main theme of the "story" is more about the scene than the characters within it. I started it while staying at Myrtle Beach with my grandparents, but just now "finished" it as an assignment in my totally awesome Creative Writing class. It's about making mistakes and finding home.
Fiction: General - Rated: K+ - English - Friendship/Adventure - Chapters: 1 - Words: 1,953 - Updated: 9-11-12 - Published: 9-5-12 - Complete
8. A Child Again reviews
This is the first piece of the third part of the English project, an edited version of the poem, though not much changed really. Told from my grandfather's point of view about his wife. The introduction for this section is posted with Babysitting Gma.

Poetry: Love - Rated: K - English - Poetry/Hurt/Comfort - Chapters: 1 - Words: 265 - Reviews: 1 - Published: 7-12-12 - Complete
10. Devoid of Hope reviews
This is probably one of the weirdest poems I have. I wrote it for my best friend. I love her with all my heart and she was going through a particularly difficult time when I wrote this one.
Poetry: Love - Rated: K - English - Poetry/Hurt/Comfort - Chapters: 1 - Words: 222 - Reviews: 1 - Published: 7-3-12 - Complete
11. The Unconquered Champion reviews
This poem was written for a guy that I have a super crush on, but he doesn't like me...as far as I can tell. Same guy as Midnight Crush and I Shed My Tears. Anyway, it's strange for sure, but there's no telling how awake I was or wasn't when I wrote it!
Poetry: Love - Rated: K - English - Poetry/Romance - Chapters: 1 - Words: 179 - Reviews: 2 - Published: 7-3-12 - Complete
12. In the Dark reviews
Honestly, History would be a more appropriate category, but it's unavailable. I wrote this poem for Extra Credit in one of my classes. It's dedicated to Helen Keller and her teacher Anne Sullivan. She's one of my favorite people to read about and learn from. Helen Keller was an amazing woman.
Poetry: Friendship - Rated: K - English - Poetry/Friendship - Chapters: 1 - Words: 259 - Reviews: 2 - Published: 7-3-12 - Complete

16. I Shed My Tears reviews
This is a poem I was inspired to write about the same guy from Midnight Crush. It's again one of those things that I will probably be the only one to fully understand, but what do you think? It only hints at romance, mostly a developing friendship thing.
Poetry: Friendship - Rated: K - English - Poetry/Romance - Chapters: 1 - Words: 126 - Reviews: 3 - Published: 10-10-11 - Complete
17. Midnight Crush reviews
Poem I wrote one night- about Midnight. I was extreemly tired and kinda out of it, but the poem came out nonetheless. It's about how unreasonably shy I am and this guy that I have a major crush on. Most of it only I can fully appriciate, but you think?
Poetry: Love - Rated: K - English - Poetry/Romance - Chapters: 1 - Words: 286 - Reviews: 4 - Published: 10-10-11 - Complete
18. For the Pain and Sorrow reviews
Initially inspired by my uncle. He and his wife had tried for several years to have a child of their own. They've been through miscarages and stillborns, and now have 2 healthy boys. This isn't about their experiences, but it was inspired by their pain.
Poetry: Life - Rated: K+ - English - Poetry/Hurt/Comfort - Chapters: 1 - Words: 181 - Reviews: 3 - Published: 9-27-11 - Complete

This is another of my "inspired poems". I wrote it one night when I was an emotional wreck...so it might not make a ton of sence...Let me know what you think!
Poetry: Life - Rated: K+ - English - Poetry/Hurt/Comfort - Chapters: 1 - Words: 95 - Reviews: 3 - Published: 7-13-11 - Complete
21. Angels In the Creases of the Clouds reviews
