A Little Bit about me (Well, actually rather a lot):

Hello there, Ink Flows Into Power, pleased to meet you. I tend to go by the shorter term of Inky (waaay too appropriate for a writer). I am a sixteen year old boy in my last year of Secondary School (High school in non-Scottish places?). I hope to go on and become a teacher of English and/or History, but also do writing on the side. I have already attained the grades I need to go to a University and study teaching, but I have decided to take a laid back year to pursue my love of writing and complete a novel (ambitious I know). For those of you who enjoy reading fanficitons, I have a profile on that site. For now, I only have a single story up there (a Dynasty Warriors one) but I will be branching out later

I am a massive reader and I particularly enjoy epic fantasies (Tolkein and the like). I also have an interest in some sci-fis if they are interesting and unique. I have recently been reading some historical fictions and I have come to enjoy them as well, but only if they feature a historical figure I find interesting. My stories will mostly be epic fantasies as I enjoy writing them the most, but there is a high chance that the odd sci-fi or historical fiction may creep in when I develop writer's block (GRRRRR!!! HATE WRITER'S BLOCK!!!!)I am not just a novel reader, I enjoy reading poetry (if I feel it is good enough) and short stories (if they show flair and characterisation). My own personal attempts at poetry are to be found here as well, though I am a realist - I know that I am not much of a poet, more a fantasy novelist.

My current labor of love is "Resilience: Blood and Fortitude". I am hoping to bring the worlds of old fantasy and new fantasy together by having the fast-paced action of modern fantasy and the greater characterization of older works. In this, my inspiration was David Eddings who was somewhat caught between the old and new, and his works are remarkable because of that. I write poetry wen the inspiration strikes, which is not that often. I have been told, however, that the poetry I do write is good (though that is by friends so it may be just a little biased).

I am more than happy to read any stories from the above categories, so if you need a reviewer and you write epic fantasies, sci-fis or historical fictions (like one about Hannibal Barca) I would be overjoyed to read and review it for you. WARNING: I will be critical, but I won't flame you. I try to make a mix of good and bad points to create a more rounded review that both encourages you to keep writing and shows you where you can improve.

My favorite authors (and poets) include: David Eddings, who made a world that rivalled our own; J.R.R Tolkein who inspired me to take up my pen and whose literary works still move and enchant me today; Peter V Brett, who made the first book that made me cry (don't you dare laugh...it was sad); Wilfred Owen, neither words nor tears could do "Dulce et Decorum est" credit; Anne Sexton, I have read only one of your poems ("Courage") but it made me determined to try more; C.S Lewis, my first fantasy novels, and still among the best; and Conn Iggulden, who ever knew you could feel pity for, and grow to like, Genghis Khan?

I have recently created a high/epic fantasy community and corresponding forum for those who like that genre. It is the genre in which you create a brand new world (such as Narnia and Middle-Earth) and is my favorite kind of fantasy. Check it out if that interests you at all as a reader or writer.

Elsewhere on the Web: You can find me on Quotev: http://www.quotev.com/26515305

I have a DeviantArt page: http://darrom.deviantart.com/

(you may need to copy and paste the links)

On the Quotev profile, I will be writing a journal of any thing to do with my story. It may be a good way to find out why one update or another is late.

DeviantArt is the place to go if you want to see more of the world Resilience: Blood and Fortitude is set in. The map of the world is already up there. It is also where to go if you think that you can help me make a cover image for any of my stories or poems. Finally, if you have any artwork connected to any of my writing at all, I'd love to see it. If I like it, I will certainly give you a shout-out!

Just a poem devoted to my memories of my Grandmother and how alike we were. This is not your average bereavement poem - though I refer to the funeral, it is mostly a tribute to the lady who inspired me to write. Though I have said it is complete, I am willing to edit it to make it better so feel free to put suggestions in the reviews. Though it says it is over 1000 words, its not.
