Hi there FictionPress user!

My name is Pi and I'm a journalist. I currently hold the position of Editor-in-Chief for an online college news source. I frequently write articles, editorials, and guides. In my spare time I also like to write poetry. As you might see from my own collection it's a pretty wide range of random topics!

Being an Editor-in-Chief is a double-edged sword; I have a lot of experience in proofreading and editing works but little time to do so because of how busy I can be. Though I am openly a betareader I do ask for patience if you request my services. I only read/write poetry at the moment so I will only betaread poems. On a rare (and often unplanned) occasion I may go out and review something else, such as a short story or essay, but not as a service.

So I hope you like my works! I have written many poems but I tend to only upload the ones I feel are solid enough to be presentable. I enjoy tackling a variety of styles including rap, limericks, sonnets (Shakespearean to be precise), freeverse, along with other unique rhyme schemes and structures. I like to have a positive message in most of my poems because let's face it:

90% of the poetry on FictionPress is depressing.

That being said I hope to brighten up these pages. If what you write is a reflection of your character then you should strive to use poetry as both an outlet and conductor. Many of you write poetry when you're sad, correct? You should also try writing poetry when you're happy. You may be pleasantly surprised with what comes out. When you return to FictionPress out of angst and turmoil to write another downhearted poem you'll get to read the piece you wrote while you were rolling around in sloppy, gushy buckets of happiness.

If you ever decide to turn a new leaf by writing something happy for once I applaud and admire you. In fact, message it to me. I'd totally love to read it. Let's begin anew! I love to make friends so feel free to contact me. Not too many poets out there nowadays, it's so sad...yet, let us write poems about overcoming depression, not undergoing it.

Your Friend,
ThinkPi
