Musical:
-Tom Waits (Real Gone and Blood Money have had the biggest influence on me.)
-Rocky Votolato (Suicide Medicine is one of the best albums I've heard in the past decade.)
-Cursive (recently discovered; or rather, I was recently introduced to it by a number of people. I only own The Ugly Organist, but I really enjoy it.)
-Waxwing (all of this band's albums are good.)
-The Blood Brothers (Their older albums, especially Burn, Piano Island, Burn, are brilliant.)
-Johnny Cash (Everything by him is good, in my opinion.)
-Richard Buckner (perfectly encapsulates heartbreak. He's good.)
Graphic Novels:
-Blade of the Immortal (a manga; not done in a typical anime style...it's quite gritty and quite good.)
-The Filth (a surrealist graphic novel; brilliantly done.)
-Watchmen (Excellent deconstruction of the whole "superhero" concept.)
-The Life-Eaters (Based on a short story by David Brin. Excellent concept, somewhat weak execution.)
-Hellboy (I'd be lying if I don't love the idea of a bright red Roman Catholic half-demon working for the U.S. government to kill Lovecraftian horrors. Using a giant six-shooter.)
Television:
-Lost (I enjoyed the first season; haven't seen more than a bit of the second.)
-Heroes (haven't been watching much, lately, but I loved the first season.)
-Doctor Who (probably my favorite television program, at the moment. I can't wait for the sci-fi channel to bring the next season on over.)
-Neon Genesis Evangelion (psychological/religious/science fiction anime. Quite good.)
-Hellsing (probably the only thing with vampires in it that I actually enjoy; the Manga and Hellsing Ultimate are the best, though.)
