Author has written 7 stories for Biography, Humor, General, and Life. Salutations! I am Carbon Polygon, but please, feel free to call me Carbon if you'd like. I take quite a bit of pride in my original works, but I am pretty seclusive in terms of how much I let out into the open, as I don't view myself as a particularly good writer. However, this is apparently a sign of being a good writer, so I suppose my work cannot be that abhorrent! I write almost every day in terms of my original works, but you won't see much of that here, as I don't tend to post it too much, as I said. However, what you see here is what I view as the cream of the crop, as it were. So, enjoy! I'm not a romance writer--I don't like the genre due to the roundabout predictability inherited in romances. I tend to like writing about characters' backstories, or the friendship held between characters, dwelling deep into the quirks in them. To be honest, I'm a bit of a shaky timid person, so the whole romance ordeal gives me sort of a pique. However, I do support a handful of ships in the fan-fiction writing domain, which are all heterosexual. I have no qualms with homosexuality, I just happen to prefer heterosexual ships to slash or femmeslash. Homosexual pairings just aren't my cup of tea. My personal interests and hobbies include writing, reading, video games, trigonometry, ecology, swimming, parasites, skiing, science documentaries, squids, good debates, baking, computer programming (I'll admit I'm not too good at it though), cats, mycology, astronomy and bats. I'm currently a medical student, with a biophysics Bachelors. I'm a good student, and a large motive of mine is to keep it that way. Let's roll out my personal favorites in every category! Books: Contact (Carl Sagan), The Greatest Show on Earth (Richard Dawkins), Sick Puppy (Carl Hiaasen), Your Inner Fish (Neil Shubin), Flatland (Edwin Abbott), Fahrenheit 451 (Ray Bradbury), Uncle Tom's Cabin, and anything written by Shakespeare--but The Merry Wives of Windsor is one of my favorites. Also, if this counts as literature, I really love the awesome webcomic Homestuck. TV shows: Cosmos, Monsters Inside Me, The Big Bang Theory, Monty Python, Death Note, Yu-Gi-Oh! (Season 0's my favorite), Pawn Stars, American Pickers, Dragon Ball Z, Get Smart, and Downton Abbey. Video games: Earthbound (all 3), Portal (both), Half-Life (all of them), Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker/Skyward Sword, Pikmin (both), Team Fortress 2, Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones, Pokémon (Black, Sapphire and Colosseum), Professor Layton and the Last Specter, Super Mario Sunshine, Ōkami, Ōkamiden, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and Kirby's Epic Yarn. Hoo! That's it! Movies: Contact, Contagion, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Life of Brian. Quotes: "Let me tell you the secret to my goal. My strength lies solely in my tenacity." -Louis Pasteur "Nothing in life is feared; it is only understood." -Marie Curie "When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. GET MAD!" -Cave Johnson (Portal 2) "Hm, a Combine zombie. That's like a...a Zombine! Right? Heh, Zombine, get it? Heh heh...okay." -Alyx Vance (Half Life 2: Episode 1) "It's not every day you get to obliterate something! How often do you get to say, 'Hey Mom! I'd like that OBLITERATED! Thanks!'" -Dan Green (Supanova Sydney 2011) "That thing is probably some raw sewage container. Go ahead and rub your face all over it." -GLaDOS (Portal) "Hard work pays off over time. Procrastination pays off right now." -My dad | |||||||
