My name is Michaela. I am currently a college student working towards a B.A. degree in English. I love writing, it is one form of expression I know I am at least decent in. I'm also interested in Linguistics and enjoy studying different languages. I am especially interested in the role language plays in communication and culture. I'm studying Japanese as well, and aim to become proficient in it. Despite my Filipino heritage I am not fluent in Tagolog but I have a decent understanding of the language, still learning.

I like to write poetry. I don't know much about the structure of poetry. I'm not especially intimate with rhyme, rhythm or meter, though I do try to incorporate them into my work. I just write what, for lack of a better description, feels good to me. I hope to learn more about the composition of poetry and other forms of creative writing as I travel deeper into my English studies at University.

Some of the works on this account were written as far back as 2010 (when I started writing poems).

I welcome constructive criticism. In fact, I embrace it. No bs-ing, be brutal please! :D
