Reviews don't mean you're great. Some of the worst stories get thousands of reviews. Some of the best reviews are by people who don't necessarily think you're amazing, but they want to help you out because you've written something they want to read.

The writers on this site receive nothing for their work. Some even take loads of criticism. The only reason we post here is to hear what you think of our writing. I've learned a lot more from criticism than I have from silence or "Loved it, update soon!" Though those simple words of encouragement do in fact have a place. They do exactly as intended; they encourage and at times when a writer might consider giving up. Even if you don't know how to give concrit I believe that we all know how to encourage one another. Thanks to everyone who told me how I could improve.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Contrary to popular belief, the 'Review this Story' link at the end of stories is not dangerous. There have been no documented instances of someone being harmed by clicking the 'Review this Story' link. Further, reports about malware being installed by clicking the 'Review this Story' link are completely fictitious. In fact, clicking the 'Review this Story' link tends to increase the self esteem of the author who wrote the story in question, resulting in additional stories being written. Leaving a 'review' is not difficult. Leaving a 'review' can take only moments. This has been a public service announcement.
