Author has written 2 stories for Fantasy. Fictionpress does not recommend using your real name... interesting, but I would rather publish under my own name. So I have struck a balance, recently changing my pen name from a gamer tag (Lockdale) to something approximating my real name (j.d.sch). For close to two decades I have been more of an idea man, jotting notes and flushing out characters and stories. Its only been the last few years that I have really attempted putting these ideas on paper, and let me tell you its been a challenge. It hasn't been until recently that I've made any real effort to share these prose outside my intimate circle of friends, so I truly hope you find these works passably enjoyable, or at the least not a complete waste of your time. Is my intent, through my writing, to blend character development and intricate plot narratives into a vibrate and believable (if not wholly fantastic) world. Like all fantasy there is a need to stretch the imagination a bit but I try and maintain a realistic quality to the narratives. Most of my stories are fairly appropriate for a teen audience, but there is some strong language and violence, but nothing especially gratuitous. Here, I've started at the basic level, submitting completed texts (a first for me) at more manageable lengths. One, a short, and another coming in between the novellette and novella size. These initial tales, Lead Edge of Dusk and A Single Chill Twilight are character background introductions, and sort of a primer to a much larger tale known as Atmosphere. I'm testing the water's of viability here (as I'm sure many of you are as well), and as I am fairly new to the whole sharing game I welcome all input, from literary criticisms and critiques, to thoughtful reviews and advice, to notes in improving my grammar and sentence structure. So I'll wrap this up by saying, thank you for any time your willing to spend reading my works (or even looking at my profile) and please, enjoy! I have finished updating Lead Edge of Dusk. Included are many grammatical fixes and an extensive chapter reformatting. I would also like to use this opportunity to thank those who have read my stories, and a special thanks to those that have commented! | |||||||
