Two hundred years ago the world ended. Out of the ashes a king rose and with it a rebellion. Since The First Days records of the rebellion have been destroyed. The new king is curious as to why. He has sent a group of eight to find what they can. Among them is Haley Nelson who finds answers in a book written by one of the most feared spy the rebellion.

2. The Guards

Sirens are known for luring sailors to their deaths, the guards are known for preventing that. Marina has defected from her family of sirens in favor of joining the guards. The sirens see this as the guard's fault for stealing their sister. To make matters worse Adriana, the siren's leader, was badly injured by a guard. The sirens have decided the guards have stolen too much.
