Author has written 1 story for Nature. Catholic * book lover * music * writer * clumsy * cardiac insomniac * nervous * teenager * silly * forgetful * words Me: Why, hello there! You can call me Nellie, which is not my name, but I'm sure it's somebody's. As my username suggests, I often can't sleep or don't sleep well. I added 'cardiac' in there for 3 reasons: 1) it sounds kinda cool, 2) I lOvE rhymes, and 3) 'cardiac' means 'of or relating to the heart' and usually my heart is too heavy for me to sleep. Anyway, I suppose you didn't come here to learn all about me. So let's move on... Writing: So, obviously I love writing. Of course, it's a great way to express myself and it helps me sort out my feelings and everything like that. I'm sure a lot of you out there can relate to how it feels to really write: to pour out your heart, emotions, and life into words. It feels like magic. But I want to get better. I want to be able to use my words as methods of helping the world, to be able to dream aloud, to make people think with a handful of letters. This sounds like I'm some sort of delusional nutso living in a fantasy, but it's really my dream. And guess what?! You can help me meet it- by leaving reviews! I live on reviews: give me constructive criticism and I will love you forever. I do return reviews, although I'm reluctant to admit that because so many people will leave a comment of "great" and expect 3 paragraphs in response. I do not think so. Oh, and I also don't read any 'M-rated' or 'slash' material because I'm just not strong enough for that. Music: Let's get this out there: with the exception of very few, the majority of writers love music. And I am no exception. I listen to a variety of bands and genres, depending on how I'm feeling and what I'm doing. If you're looking for good music to write to, let me suggest Mumford & Sons (specifically: "The Cave"), Parachute ("The Mess I Made" or "She (For Liz)"), Snow Patrol ("Chasing Cars"), and High Highs ("Open Season"). These are all sort of calm and rhythmic, with what I consider to be inspiring lyrics. Of course, there's a wide world of music out there, and what you can write to really depends on who you are and what you like. These are just some of my go-to songs for a chill-kind of mood. Messaging: I like to think of myself as a fairly open-minded person. That being said, feel free to private message (PM) me about anything. It doesn't need to be about anything relevent (though I might be confused if it's not), all that I ask is that it's appropriate. Have questions/ponderings about life/stories/music/writing/me/Catholicism/pretty-much-anything? I'm your gal. Need some encouragement? Give me a shout. Interested in a joint-author project? So am I. Just in the mood for a chat? You'll regret getting me started, but I'm always here. Want to talk Harry Potter? CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY. Upcoming: Currently I'm working on a story called "Falling Up" about an 8th grade girl in band class. It's all sort of hazy right now, but I'm working on it and should be publishing it soon enough. So there you go. If you stuck through it, skimmed, or even just skipped to the end, I appreciate it. Now go out there and make a difference, kid. The world's waiting.
