Author has written 28 stories for General, General, and Supernatural. -Breaking News- I spend too much time on the computer! The story behind my amazing discovery goes as follows: I was asked sometime with in the past few days if one of my song fics could be put on a 1x2 fansite, and before I aceepted this offer (yeah, I accepted, because I'm an attention grubbing narcissist) I, of course, checked out the site that my horribly unoriginal, badly written fic was going to be placed on. It turned out that my piece of writing is unworthy: the site is pretty good. *Much* better than most fansites ... I'll give the address for it when my fic is on it, because I am a greedy, attention grubbing narcissist. Anyway, I looked under the links section and stumbled upon an essay supporting truth and artistry in the fanfiction, fan art and basic opinions of many (if not most)of the aspects of Gundam Wing (the address will be at the end- please, read it!). The person who wrote this essay has -completely- changed my outlook on the pairings in GWing ... which then, ofcourse, drove me to sit down and read my own fanfic. And, as I realize that it really sucked at first, I think I did ok in the end. That's besides the point - the point is, it was really cliche of me, and above all, my use of Japan-glish is attrocious. I mean, God, I can't even stand to finish that arch at that point (I will, ofcourse, but I need to re-think a bit) because I really went against a lot of my own personal pinons and the entire thing was, well, hypocritical of me. In fact, I'd like to apologize: First, to anyone who had to -read- that drivel. I mean, really - porly edited and it just went to fast. Read some of my *good* stuff sometime: I drag on for what feels like hours about little things. Description after description and, well, I really think I could have done better with that. Seriously. But the main thing I had a problem with was why I decided to do yaoi instead of heterosexual relationships, and as for that, well, I have a good reason. It started off as yaoi because, as stupid as it is, I think I just wanted to get a little attention, and cause a little outrage. And outrage I got - anything from "I'm going to kill you if you ever try that again" to "Gay? GAY?! How could Heero be gay? He is -so- in love with Relena!" only with a billion extra exclaimation points. That was one major point that the author of that essay had to make - the anime is about -connections- not about the wild sexual relationships that the characters have. It's not abot loving someone, it's the feeling you have for them, be it hatred, jealousy, or even just basic trust. And, after much thought, it dawns on me exactly why I'd want to put two everyday teenagers into some sort of homosexual relationship. I'm *bi*... ofcourse I want to read/write/see a couple guys doing farly naughty things that most people don't do on a regular basis. But that's just it; if that's the connection I want to see, I'll see it. Just as some of you people out there who are strictly heterosexual only want to read about Treize and Lady Une making sweet passionate love because that's what -you- feel and experience. But like I said, I -see- gayness, I -feel- gayness, so the characters, when put into my hands, will do and feel the same, reguardless of what was originally intended. And now that my eyes have been opened, I think I'll try to tap into that more in the second fifth of my fic. It's more emtion and connection than anything, s/he's right. And maybe, just maybe, all of us crazed hyper fangirls should step back once in a while and really thing about the meanings behind the sexiness *wink* I'm being too serious for my own good, but it's a thought to consider.
