Story News

ALL STORIES ARE CURRENTLY ON HOLD AS I COMPLETE MY ENTRIES FOR GLIMMERTRAIN.

It's been awhile since I updated this, so here goes:
The most recent story in my portfolio is Jade Virgin. The other stories were written long ago, and I have mostly abandoned them. They're from a younger me, so I am going to keep them up, but if you are a fan of Jade Virgin I'm sorry to say I have nothing else for you to read. (yet)

Currently I am writing three stories:

Jade Virgin - I've had difficulty with the recent chapter - I think I've rewritten it at least ten times now. It's almost done, should be up before the week is over. The longer chapter seems to have been well recieved, so I will update with longer chapters from now on.
Ruby Virgin - I've finished the first two chapters but I am currently proofreading/working out some plot kinks. In other words, I'm not satisfied. As soon as the first chapter is to my satisfaction, I'll post it.
Little One -I will never post this on the internet because I have had people steal my works and cut/paste names out of them and this story is something that is very precious to me.

Jade Virgin:

The story controversy - is this a rip off of Goong?

The answer is NO. I started writing this before I knew Goong even existed! I have a series of "Jeweled Virgin" stories planned, and Jade needed Asia. Japan or China would have been cliche, and the only other asian country off the top of my head is Korea - and it doesn't help that we were covering Korea in history!

So I have read Goong. The only common connection is the alternate universe with a royal family that engages in traditional arranged marriages. Goong does not have tiers. Goong does not have a heroine that is concerned with changing the country. Goong's heroes are teenagers. There is a love triangle, which mine will never have. I do not need a third party to create romantic tension between Junseh and Jaewon ;) The only thing I have taken from my reading of Goong are the titles, like Seja or Debi or Sejabin. I'm glad I was made aware of Goong because I feel including these titles will help with the realism of the piece.

Other novels in the Jeweled Virgin series

Note: The "virgin" has nothing really to do with the sexual aspect of anything. The titles are inspired by the Janne da Arc song, Diamond Virgin. The song itself is about a feverish obsessive love with a girl that is not exactly nice and innocent like the ideal Japanese woman should be, but he falls for her despite that and she becomes his "Diamond Virgin". For instance, in Jade Virgin Junseh is not the type of girl Jaewon usually goes after but he becomes drawn to her despite that and falls in love.

Diamond Virgin - It concerns the metamorphosis of an innocent girl into a cunning woman. For the first time in generations, the royal family has produced a male heir. Now that his time of marriage nears, each noble family must send one girl to act as a concubine in hopes of securing an engagement.

Emerald Virgin - The metamorphosis of an innocent girl into an ingenious woman: Saara's clan is destroyed by a zealous prince set on building an empire. Taken in as a slave, she learns the true definition of "master". Again, this one has a stronger sexual hilt to it than Jade Virgin, but I might upload edited versions to this site.

Ruby Virgin - The metamorphosis of a strong girl into a remarkable woman. Nakia is a demon hunter. Of course, professionally that would be "Demon Enforcement Officer". Her and her small team are tasked with two things - one, ensuring that demons would have rights in the world and two ensuring said demons do not run amok. There are those who obey and those who do not, well, that is why she is called a demon hunter.

Other, non-romance stories

Little One - I am still debating whether or not to upload this because I'd like some feedback but I don't want to risk someone stealing it. :/ It is hard to summarize into one sentence, so I'll talk about it for a bit. A day at work that had a case of mistaken anger prompted this plot bunny. Amie is a girl who doesn't have a past. She is being raised in part by Mythri, a cat whose past spans lifetimes. At first she was an oddity, a mere orphan from the war. But as time spans and as words twist and deform from tongue to tongue Amie became a monster accompanied by her vicious cat. It's not that Amie was a monster. It's not that Mythri is a monster. No, the real monster has yet to arrive. He will befriend Amie, and their story shall begin. While my other stories are more lighthearted in tone and style, this story has more "meat" to the words and tone. I've decided to keep it towards a modern fairy tale, similar to Pan's Labrynth by Guillermo del Toro, but I have refrained from excessive descriptions of gore.

The cat who lived a million lives - I have a habit of being inspired by songs. This one is "100 Man Kai Ikita Neko" by Takui Nakajima. It is a haunting, beautiful song, one of my favorites by this singer. When a person is immortal, they do die as we all do. The cells will eventually divide into obscurity, the body will eventually rot - there is no such thing as becoming immortal in body. Immortality is dying and being reborn with your memories of all past lives intact. Immortality is the cure for the fear of death. But after so many years, so many memories, so many lives, the soul longs to rest. Mythri, the cat from Little One, is the main character in this novel.

Niwaurushi - Kozoe is a normal high school girl until she is summoned
to an alternate old earth. Kozoe discovers she is the 'Maiden of the
Trees' and the person she is destined to love is the person she is
destined to kill. The story shall be told in three arcs - the first of
which deals with the war between the Li, Chai, and Yakovlev clans and
details the 'coming of Yue'. The second is divided into two halves -
the first of which deals with Kozoe, the second of which deals with
Yue; both detail the events leading up to the War of Fate. The third
arc covers the entire War of Fate. There shall also be an epilogue.

Silent Jealousy - The story of the band Silent Jealousy, from their
humble beginnings to their tragic end. Engelesa is the lead singer of
Silent Jealousy, and is in love with her guitarist Celos. However,
neither can provide what each other needs most. . .
