Author has written 3 stories for Life, and Friendship.

RIGHT THEN. This just got totally made over, as of June 13th, 2008. (Yeah, that's right. FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH. Deal with it.)

This is my alternate account, where I amuse myself by posting a bit of poetry every once in a blue moon. My main account, under Murphy's Lawyer, is the preferred one (and a much more prolific one, may I add).

Now, to update some information that was horribly out of date...

Stuff About ME

Name - Lauren Colleen M_ (the rest is none of your beeswax.)
Nationality - Canadian, Ontarian to be specific (and you'll notice that no, we don't say 'eh' all the time.)
Age - 17, soon to be 18 (ability to move out of the house! AWESOMENESS!)
Birthday - August 22
Gender - I'll give you a hint: I'm of the variety that typically sports breasts. Meaning, I'm a GIRL.
Race - Caucasian (is that just a politically correct way of saying 'white'? Cause I don't do politically correct well, as you'll notice..)
Appearance - about 5'7" (or 8"), 140 lbs (it's just a number, and besides, don't you know? Muscle weighs more than fat. As a farm girl I definitely have more muscle than fat.) Red hair (dyed, I got tired of being referred to as a 'dumb blonde'), dark blue eyes that kinda tend to change colour, fair complexion that burns easily in the summer. (winces at the memory of a recently healed sunburn)
Family life - Messed up beyond all belief and comprehension. Divorced parents, re-married mother with a 10-month old baby and another on the way (she's 40, folks; gotta admire her guts); perpetually single father who refuses to admit he's looking for the nonexistent 'Perfect Woman.' 2 annoying brothers who drive me crazy on a regular basis. Throw in a lot of pets at Mom's house, parents who haven't spoken to each other in close to five years, and you have all the makings for one stressed teenager!
Personality - loud, sarcastic, obnoxious, an idealist who can be depressingly pessimistic or annoyingly optimistic as I choose, "too cynical for a seventeen-year-old" (thanks Dad), funny, normally cheerful, given to black tempers but thankfully also given to the type of temper that erupts quickly and cools quickly. "Quirky" sense of humour (read: perverted), and generally fun to be around.
Favourite bands - (at the moment, though the first one mentioned will never change...) U2, State of Shock, U2, Linkin Park, U2, 30 Seconds to Mars, U2, Muse, U2, and... oh yeah, U2.
Favourite books - The Irish Century Series (1916, 1921, 1949, 1972), Harry Potter, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse.. all I can think of for now
Favourite authors - Morgan Llywelyn, J. K. Rowling, Stephenie Meyer, Nora Roberts, Holly Black, etc., etc...

So yeah, for anyone who frequents my other page... yes, that totally was just a reproduction of my other profile. Deal with it!

Stuff About the POEMS

Almost a Year - my first one, and what I consider my best, though sad. This was written when the first anniversary of my grandmother Sonia's death from breast cancer was approaching in 2004. She had been fighting the disease for seventeen years, having been diagnosed when she was fifty. The day she died was one of the worst of my life, and the funeral was something I'll never forget. In any case, this one's just very close to home, and important to me.

Thank You or For a Friend - This was written at a time when I was very confused about a guy friend of mine who liked me as more than that, and when I wasn't sure if I returned the feelings. Like the other stressful time in my life, I vented via rhyming. (I figured out my feelings, no worries. Only took me like two years, but yeah...)

If I Only Knew - More from that confused period of my life! This was when I really didn't know how I felt, and tried to explain that... 'nuff said.

You'll notice I've posted no poetry since that period... that would be because I haven't written any. Which leads me to some news...

More Stuff About ME or MY LIFE

June 13/08 - EEK! So. Somebody is actually interested in publishing my poems - mine - in an actual book! (screeches) Long story short I got an e-mail today saying that this person from a self-publishing company in Philly was interested in my poems.

Naturally, I e-mailed her back saying that if she wanted to publish me, I had a lot more material going for me in the fiction department. So hopefully she's checking that out and will get back to me. I'll keep you all posted.

And... that's about it for now. Peace out, people...!
