Author has written 2 stories for Sci-Fi. Good morning! Or Afternoon, whichever you prefer. So, I tried making a webcomic about a world that I created. It didn't go over so well. It has since been the subject of a hostile takeover by my associate Jay. Sooooooooo, I decided that it would be better to write my stories instead of try to draw them. Therefore, this will be used as my publishing source. More information will be posted soon. Wish me luck. Not that I need it, of course. A question that I've often asked is, "What would happen if there were other intelligent races? Not just humans?" Needless to say, most people have thought about this question, but I've always wanted to go into more detail. Sure, anyone can write a story about humans fending off against space aliens, but what if it was different? What if someone really tried to get an inside look into how their society would function? What are the moral, religious, and structural implications of such a situation? How would the different races play off each other? I guess I'm about to find out. Questions? Comments? Dialogue? Just want to point out something and don't think it deserves a full review? Stop by the forum that's listed in the link "My Forums" just above here. (In addition, any questions about the worlds I've created will be answered. In full.) Stories The Valceeyrce Trilogy These three stories are written about individual experiences during the Battle of Valceeyrce, which many considered to be the turning point of The Great War. Ever since the apocalypse made life on earth uninhabitable during the 21st century, the individual races moved outward into space colonization. Humans went to live on Venus. The Ryne, a fox-like sentient race, went to live on Mars with the Gaolang, a sentient wolf-like race (original, I know.) Now, they lived in relative peace with each other on opposite worlds, (although interracial battles hardly ever really subsided.) But tensions climaxed after a rogue vessel caused the two biggest military space fleets to collide. After that, the Humans launched the initiative, performing a Blitzkrieg on the unsuspecting planet of Mars. These stories take place during the battle that would decide the fate of the Ryne race, in their last stronghold. Valceeyrce, (pronounced V-al-sea-eye-er-suh.) How will their fate be decided? The Orange: This story was originally written to the song "Urbia" by Kissinger. By "Written To" I mean that one chapter corresponded to one verse, to some degree like that. I had the story in my head for a while before deciding to finally write it out. I originally didn't mean for it to be about trust at all, but that's what it kind of evolved into. In addition, this story was written before I finalized how Ryne language worked, so it has a few phrases that are now changed, and that I will get around to changing in the story. Eventually. I thought that this story was a suitable intro into the Valceeyrce universe, so that's why I decided to post it first of the three. This story follows a certain Ryne, as the Orange tags along to become one of the refuguees that are shipped off to Valceeyrce. After befriending a Black, the Orange becomes involved in the battle, and must fight for survival. With only the trust of the Black to ensure survival, how long will the Orange last? The Yellow: Remember all of those English books back in high school that you absolutely hated because they were always so dull and boring and impossible to read? This is one of those books. Yes, I KNOW there's no quotation marks, there's a reason for that. If you don't want to take time to read this story, by all means, read something else. But this story is hard to read, MUCH more so than "The Orange" was. just to forewarn you. As a Yellow, Vynere was always just known as a common color. The common colors, red, orange, yellow, brown, and such, usually don't have any real defining characteristics. But when the Yellow was chosen for a military body-armor project, Vynere is trying to rationalize, why it could happen this way. Why not one of the specialized colors, who have much better capabilities at what they do? Why just a common? A Yellow? | |||||||||||||||
