Author has written 4 stories for Life, War, Essay, and General. (Saturday, 28th March, 2009) At the moment, I actually have an idea for a possible novel. It's forming slowly, and I don't think I'll post anything until I've got it finished or am absolutely sure that I will finish it. I can happily provide my (long-winded, still-in-progress) summary for it, since it gives away pretty much nothing of the plot. Like, at all. Miranda's beginning her third year of high school, preparing to knuckle down, do the work (for once), and spend less time shopping with Renee to keep her from falling behind the rest of her year group, when it happens: Jake, her older-by-nineteen-months brother comes out of the closet. When Miranda sees the obvious romance developing between Jake and one of his close friends, she knows her brother should take precedence over everything else, and sets out to help him find love. What else I can say, is that I am trying to make it as original and interesting as possible, and hoping the avoid all the stereotypes I can--I like to write characters as realistical and three dimensional. But, yeah, I'll see how this goes. I think a friend and I are planning on trying our own little NaNoWriMo since November's so far off, and we want it to last much longer than just a month. I'm starting to think I'll be doing it with this story. I love the whole process of writing. I love reading, researching, planning, plotting, finishing a piece and being able to look at it with pride. Writing has always been a big part of my life; a possible future career, in the fandoms I inhabit, everywhere. I've been telling myself stories as I fall asleep since I was a kid. In the past, I have been, for the most part, a fan fiction author. The idea of writing original fiction--especially fantasy novels--has always appealed to me, but I've never had the dedication or inspiration to stick with any theme for long. Fan fiction was a somewhat easier alternative. Nowadays, I'm giving it another shot based on the fact that I really do intend to become a published author one day. At the moment I only have a bit of poetry and an essay, but hopefully that will change. In terms of interests and what I might post, I am, like I mentioned, a fantasy nut. I love the concept of alternate universes and people being thrown around in time and magic and supernatural/mythical creatures. I also love crime, true crime, murder, serial criminals, stuff like that, and because I do watch a lot of crime shows of TV I like to think it would be right up my alley. Anyway, I guess I'll see what happens with this. Hell, I might never get round to writing anything worth posting but if I do, it's here and waiting and that's why I made it. | |||||||||||
