New chapter has been posted for Anthems for a Seventeen Year Old Girl. I forgot about it, "re-discovered" it when I was combing through my external hard drive, and then decided to work on it again. When I finish it, I really hope that I can send it out to different publishing houses and try and get it published! But I probably shouldn't get ahead of myself just yet. about my fiction: Anarchy in the UK: the first full-length story i posted here. originally, i thought it was this amazing, insightful work of fiction. i was fourteen at the time, so obviously i was a little delusional. it's basically about a twentysomething, anglophile girl who's dating the next Chris Martin. chaos ensues when a pop-tart, pop-star decides she wants him too. this story is laughable, but some people still seem to enjoy it without cringing, so for the time being, it's staying up. How To Save A Life: my second full-length story. revolves around a young, naive, college graduate who moves to nyc and falls in love with her cynical, drug-addict neighbor. Anthems for a Seventeen Year Old Girl: my newest story. revolves around a family's grief when their golden child of a son unexpectedly dies in a car crash. seventeen year old remy, left to deal with an absent father, a depressed, bed-ridden mother, decides to plunge head first into a self-destructive, downward spiral. seeking equal parts rebellion and escape, remy goes from the girl most likely to sit at home and do homework on a friday night, to a smart-mouthed burn out with a boyfriend that aspires to be the next john dillinger. things are complicated further when her late brother's best friend and remy's old flame, comes back to town. pictures for main characters of How To Save A Life: http://s257.photobucket.com/albums/hh231/margot_tenenbaum/HTSAL/ about me: girl. graduate student. 21. geek. old-hollywood fanatic. born a dreamer, quickly learned to become a cynic. known to be a bit anal, a bit eccentric, a bit obsessive. i have an extremely love/hate relationship with writing, in the sense that i love writing, i love creating new characters, and i love connecting to other people through literature. but i hate writer's block, (which i have often), and i hate revising and 98 percent of the time, i hate what i write. i've never thought that i was a good writer and yet, for reasons totally unknown to me, i've decided to go and get my degree for it. i'll probably be living in a cardboard box when i'm done with school, but i try not to think of that too often. | |||||||||||
