Author has written 2 stories for Essay, and Young Adult.

Who Am I?

I am a young(ish) writer in my twenties studying at university whilst writing a multitude of books, the main two being Aurath and The Dark Witch. If you have the time (or are just procrastinating) then I'd like you to wander on by my site and have a look around. You can find out more about me and my writing but don't leave without checking out my links page for some great websites for writers. The site is misswriter and I hope you'll drop by and leave a sentence or two in my guestbook. Thanks.

What I'm Currently Up To:

My current work in progress is a fantasy novel titled The Dark Witch. I'm 77,000 words through with an aim of 120,000 words. It's kind of my pride and joy, but after seven years and two false starts I do want to finish this in the near future.

The other novel I'm working on is Aurath: The Eight. It's a young adult urban/modern fantasy set in England with (shockingly) eight main characters. After two unfinished drafts and a major plot change I finished this in four months in late 2005. Now I'm editing it with more new changes in mind which means rewriting new scenes and reworking characters that got on my nerves or had weak characterisation. It's hard work, often cringe inducing, but I can't wait till it's finished so I can post it on here and see what people think of it (hopefully good things). For anyone's who interested (or that bored) you can find out how the opening paragraph has changed thoughout seven years here.

Note: I repay reviews but unless you ask for honest constructive criticism I'm just gonna hand over my general thoughts.

Silver Scrolls

A guide for fantasy writers. I don't claim to be an expert but it contains all I've learnt in my seven years of writing novels. Will be updated when I can. For the original articles visit my site Silver Scrolls with the links intact. First Section: Characters (which will contain eleven chapters).

Characters: Protagonist, Antagonist, Romantic Interest, Sidekicks, Mentor, Secondary Characters... Coming...eventually: Minor Characters

The Eight

Tueday's biology lesson runs the same as ever; Chaya is dozing off, Isobel is writing twelve pages of notes and Abby is ignoring her ex-boyfriend making out with the school slut. Then the lesson becomes not so normal.

The class is attacked by bikers. Bikers with green scales for skin and six inch pointed ears. Bikers who leap twelve feet across the room in a single bound. Bikers covered in fur with long snouts.

And that's only the beginning of the weirdness.

Chaya fights them. She rips the locked door from the frame. She moves objects with her mind.

But that's ok because the next day no one can remember exactly what happened. It was just a prank by some kids, right?

Except that's not the end of it. Jason goes missing. Lee and Melissa too. Before anyone realises, the whole biology class is gone. They're being held hostage by demons. Yep demons. Demons that want Chaya.

With her weapons ready, Chaya goes on a rescue mission.

It's not the demons that worry her though, it's the person they're working for.
