I am the NationChild, writer of one-shots and the occasional continued story. About my writing: Most of my characters are and will remain nameless. They just are. - I write in third point-of-view almost all the time. Occasionally it will be first person. - My specialty is angst. A lot of my stories deal with strong emotion. About NationChild: - I cannot respect anyone who flames another writer. No matter how terrible their writing is, it gives you no right to just insult it without giving some explanation as to why you found it that way. - It bothers me when people get words confused (e.g. "you're" and "your") If you're not sure, look it up in a dictionary or ask someone (I hear betas can be a tremendous help). - I dislike people telling readers in their summaries, "I suck at summaries". Frankly, I find that you are degrading yourself and your writing; it shows you don't have a lot of confidence. Summaries are meant to draw people in to read your stories. Why not take the opportunity to tell everyone how great your story is instead of telling everyone how much you "suck" at it? - I have a rule. If you review my writing, I will review yours. Quite simple, I think. - I much admire people who give others constructive criticism. Yes, all writers love having their ego boosted by fluff reviews ("OMG! I love your story! It's so amazing! Love it!"), but they like it even more when you tell them WHY you liked at and WHAT can be improved. - If you don't like my stories, tell me why. BE HONEST. Then I can make sure not to make the same mistake in the future. But remember that there is a fine line between flaming and constructive criticism. - If you like my stories, tell me why.
