Author has written 130 stories for Young Adult, Life, Politics, Love, General, Fantasy, Horror, General, Supernatural, War, Friendship, Essay, Mystery, Thriller, Nature, Religion, Family, Fantasy, Song, Biography, and Humor. REVIEW! I hate it when I get hits but no reviews. Or worse yet, someone favorites a story or poem of mine without leaving a review. About the author... My name is Preeti and I'm a 20-year-old undergrad at the University of California in San Diego as a double major in Human Biology and Political Theory. I love to write; I've been writing since I was 10. Most of my preteen pieces remain unfinished with the exception of one, scribbled on a legal pad that I lost years ago. It was about two friends on the Titanic. Hopefully, my stories have gotten more complex since then. I didn't start writing poetry until eighth grade, when an incredible amount of teenage angst settled in and poetry was the only way to let it out. Now, I write mainly stories. The teenage angst is pretty much gone and some (presumably innate) need for plot and insight has taken its place. My older stories are one-shots I wrote (most often when bored in class) in the genres of horror and supernatural. Newer works are longer and tend to be a mix of genres with an underlying romantic tone. Because I'm a sap like that. I think it's a phase. Favorites... ...because they heavily influence what I write. The main musical genres I listen to are metal, industrial and darkwave. Some artists are Epica, Kamelot, Emilie Autumn, Shiny Toy Guns, and Dargaard. Actually, Enya's a big one too. I'm a fan of dystopian literature and like pretty much all the classics (1984, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451) as well as science fiction (Jurassic Park and Watchmen ftw). Can't forget Harry Potter. Oh, and Voltaire's Candide because it speaks to my soul. Some movies that have truly impacted me are Hotel Rwanda, Pan's Labyrinth, Inherit the Wind and V For Vendetta. And then, there's always Love, Actually, which never ceases to put me in a happy mood. Don't watch too much TV except for Smallville, because I love to see Tom Welling's beautiful face and Star Trek Voyager (though The Next Generation is good too) because I can be a huge sci-fi nerd sometimes. I also love those Twilight Zone marathons on the Sci Fi Channel. And trivia shows like Jeopardy and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Fictionpress... Many, and by many I mean all but one, pieces of writing on this page are first drafts and unedited. As such, there are numerous mistakes, from typos to characterization.
