Well, what more is there to say? I'm a writer, obviously, and I also draw, sing, play video games, and love science! I'm also a PK (pastor's kid). My drawings are heavily influenced by manga and anime. I'm working on improving my talent in hopes of eventually creating a manga for my friends, so hop on over to my DA account if you like that kind of art!

When it comes to writing, well...I couldn't possibly list all my inspiration! So, here's the highlights:
Characters:
- My main influence for characters comes from real life - not any one person in particular, but stories you hear on TV, stupid things you see people doing, case studies in my Psychology book...People are crazy - far too crazy to try to create one without looking at real life!
Plots and Worlds:
- Many bursts of inspiration have come from dreams and classes, especially Psychology and Philosophy. And then, of course, there's the random musings like, 'What if old wives tales were all true?' After that, my mind can turn just about anything into a massively complex plot or world.
Writing Style:
- I like a good amount of humor in my stories, but mixed in with generally darker tones. I like dystopian societies and villains who aren't all that different from the heroes. Even in my most surreal settings, I like the characters and the price they have to pay to be realistic. Meaning I'm not afraid to kill off a main character if the plot calls for it. I typically write first-person stories, but usually with more than one narrator.
- Two main novel series that have influenced me:
1.) Knight and Rogue novels by Hilari Bell - absolutely hilarious, though they don't contain incredibly deep plots. The books are narrated by the two miain characters (Fisk and Sir Michael), alternating by chapter. Fisk is sarcastic and a realist (or pessimist?), while Michael is noble and optimistic to a fault. The banter between the two is amazing, and the contrast between their POVs is awesome!
2.) Guardians of Time trilogy by Marriane Curley - a little bit darker and more plot-centered, so more in line with my writing style. Again, each book has two first-person narrators that alternate chapter (but this time the two narrators are different for each of the three books).

Current Projects:

Affinity (working title)
Narration: 1st person, alternating between two characters
Genre: Teen Fantasy, Action/Adventure
This is my current novel series, but I'm not going to post it here, since I do intend to publish it eventually. However, I will be writing and posting short stories involving the main characters from time to time.

Dream Code: An Oneironaut's Guide
Narration: 1st person, alternating among four characters
Genre: Teen Fantasy, Action/Adventure, Supernatural
Summary: Ever kept a secret from yourself? I have. I live two lives, and they're about to collide. My secret? I'm an oneironaut - a dream traveller - and somebody wants me dead...

200 Themes Challenge
You've heard of the 100 Themes Challenge? Well, this is my version. Use it if you want, but this is mostly to get me thinking more in line with my narrators for my novels, and for practice with drawing. I'll be hosting this here, and also on my livejournal and deviantART accounts. For a list of themes, head over here: http://crestofhealing.deviantart.com/journal/21645821/
