F l u t t e r T h r o u g h L i f e . x o So, I'm Risa I. And, mmhmm, I'm not so new here anymore. :D I have a fanfiction account, here, where you'll find a larger, more detailed profile there. I have been writing my own, original work for quite some time now, about three years or so. I will most likely continue writing, and I will be posting several oneshots, poems and a few stories on here; I find time to work on them during my spare time at school and around the house. I actually do wait to have the entire story finished before I begin posting it - it just works out better for me. So until I have the current story I'm working on done, it's usually just oneshots and poems that are posted. Here are a few of my favourite writing quotes: (because I know you all want this information dumped on you :D) -"Art is a lie that makes us realize truth." -Picasso -"Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone." -Picasso -"Don't tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass." -Anton Chekhov -"You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you."-Ray Bradbury -"Writing is a way of talking without being interrupted." -Jules Renard -"Writing is not necessarily something to be ashamed of, but do it in private and wash your hands afterwards." -Robert A. Heinlein -"A writer is a person for whom writing is more difficult than it is for other people." -Thomas Mann -"Writing is the flip side of sex – it's good only when it's over." -Hunter S. Thompson -"Writing is so difficult that I feel that writers, having had their hell on earth, will escape all punishment hereafter." -Jessamyn West -"The faster I write the better my output. If I'm going slow, I'm in trouble. It means I'm pushing the words instead of being pulled by them." -Raymond Chandler -"A writer never has a vacation. For a writer life consists of either writing or thinking about writing." -Eugene Ionesco -"If you are pointing out one of the things a story is about, then you are very probably right; if you are pointing out the only thing a story is about you are very probably wrong - even if you're the author." -Neil Gaiman -"One of the things that draws writers to writing is that they can get things right that they got wrong in real life by writing about them." -Tobias Wolff -"Writing is thinking on paper." -William Zinsser -"Invent your own mythology or be slave to another man’s." -William Blake -"Everething that doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. And later on you can use it in some story." -Tapani Bagge -"Everybody walks past a thousand story ideas every day. The good writers are the ones who see five or six of them. Most people don't see any." -Orson Scott Card -"Most of the basic material a writer works with is acquired before the age of fifteen." -Willa Cather -"If you haven't got an idea, start a story anyway. You can always throw it away, and maybe by the time you get to the fourth page you will have an idea, and you'll only have to throw away the first three pages." -William Campbell Gault -"Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." -Albert Einstein My stories. Hopefully, one of these catch your attention! If they do, feel free to read them, and please review. :) ONESHOTS: First Meeting Jay: A story idea that came to me at around two thirty am back in February, this is a short one-shot about a girl at a New Year's Eve party, and one slight encounter with a handsome stranger that could change her life forever. The Seven Chairs: Based on the mysterious, Harris Burdick pictures, this is about a young maiden who is apprenticed to a famous artist with amazing talents. While studying under the Proffesor, she watches in wonder as he creates seven spectacular cathedras with extraordinary properties. This was an assignment for my drama class. Alone With Lust: How far would you go for lust? If lust tempted you so, would you trade in love? Even if the cost was high; lives of innocent people you were trusted to take care of? This is the story of a girl who might have been able to follow a different path - but she didn't. It's a short one-shot - and by "short", I mean, six paragraphs. XD A Nightmarish Premonition: A young girl was just getting some milk for her Mom - never did she expect what her Mom was truly planning. Could it be a warning for the future? Again, another short one-shot. :) Perspectives: For these two sisters, fights and mishaps are not uncommon - they argue, they ignore each other, and by lunchtime they are once more the best of friends. Can one fight, one truth, two points of views, destroy this strong bond? Of course it can. ;) Another short one-shot! Blackboard Sketches: written in careers, i attempted to capture the same boredom i felt in that class in this short blurb of hallucinations. :) The Temper: a routine that never seemed to end for this narrator, until the ending was the end. does that make sense? substitute "the ending" with "her dying" and there you have it. ;) The Hunt: always trying to escape, but they never let you do they? about an... abusive relationship, i suppose. but i dont usually go into background details in my oneshots, have you noticed? :P POETRY: too many to list :) STORIES: This Story: A girl is depressed. She feels like she doesn't belong in this world. So she does the unthinkable - but before she can take her own life, she changes her mind. Unfortunately, a tragic accident twists her life around and she has to live with her irreversable mistakes, all the while longing for her old life. Will she ever get it back? A short, five-chapter story I thought of back in January/Febuary. I've been working on it for maybe a month or so, and have already posted it on Facebook for my friends to read. I've decided to stick it on here just to think what other's thought of it. Enjoy! :) The Runaway: Stephenie King's parents aren't divorced, but they're getting there. Always fighting, arguing or worse - ignoring each other (the silence burns more than the furious screams.). Mom and Dad just don't seem to get along anymore, with Steph and a pair of twins to raise (cue in those annoying brats, Anthony and Alex.), Dad's lost his job and money's tight, dependent on only Mom's kindergarten-teaching career. Steph thinks Mom and Dad never have any more time for her, not that they would care, anyways. Why not make things easier and take herself out of their lives? Not wanting to commit suicide, Steph takes it a notch down - a runaway. When she is forced to alter her plans due to a slight hitch, an unexpected ally comes to the rescue. Written in the Summer of 2008, twelve chapters overall, including prologue and epilogue. NEWEST STORY: The Prince: Alexandra Brinbrook, daughter to the noble Sir Honrey Brinbrook and his wife, Lady Claire, has all her life had a friend in Bridgette Harding. Despite the fact that Bridge is Alex's lady-in-waiting, Alex treats her as her equal and allows her to speak her mind. When a handsome man of eighteen years happens on Alex and her servant girl, Bridgette meets on more person who treats her with respect, and possibly an affection the likes of which Bridge as never came across. But then, their rich charade falls apart in one simple movement, and now Bridge and Alex are bound together in a heartshattering tie, with no way of escaping. Fifteen chapters. COMING SOON (with some luck): The Tenth: oceans, islands, greek mythology, love, loss, death and adventure. A Siren story. Thanks for dropping by! :) -xx | |||||||
