Hi, everybody! (Hi, Dr. Nick!)

I'm a thirtysomething software engineer with an assortment of hobbies that I get into as the mood strikes me. In addition to writing, I draw, compose piano music, sing, lift weights, play video games, and make a cosplay costume once in a blue moon. I'm living happily ever after with the ogre I married and two cats who think they run the place.

My current focus is Resonance, a rubber reality horror tale inspired by surreal works such as Jacob's Ladder and the Silent Hill series. Driving back from a friend's house late one night, I wondered what would happen if some ordinary person like me took a wrong turn down a deserted rural Pennsylvania road with no way to find their way back. I poked at the story without much luck, forgot about it for a couple of years, and pleasantly surprised myself by bringing the concept out for another go when NaNoWriMo 2005 rolled around. My rough draft was the text equivalent of watching someone else play an adverb-heavy video game, but it developed the basic concepts that I later refined into a planned story.

The rest of this tale is mapped out, but I have been struggling with writer's block on it for quite some time. Rather than forcing it along, I prefer to work as my inspiration allows me to. To get back in touch with the story, I am editing previous chapters to smooth out some rough prose. (up through chapter 10 as of 2/1/2010)

Reviews are welcome, even a simple "Good job" telling me that you liked the story. My only request is that you give specifics if you notice some aspect of my writing that could be improved.

I write fanfiction inspired by Dynasty Warriors, a game series based on the Three Kingdoms period of ancient China. My work runs the gamut from goofy humor to romance, modern alternate universe interpretations, and researched historical writing.
