THE BLUE HOWLER
I decided it was time for a change..
About Me (as of 28 May 2008): I am 18 years old and a graduate of Martinsburg Senior High School. I work part-time at the public library and am an avid reader and language aficionada. I am bilingual English/Spanish and study several other languages independently. I plan on taking half a year off before going to college, during which I plan to travel and hopefully acquire new writing inspiration. I've been a writer since 1999, when I got into online roleplaying and writing fanfiction. I write and read poetry and prose, but I am mostly a prolific poet. My favorite authors are Stephen King (The Dark Tower) and Terry Pratchett (Discworld). I love most kinds of music, from Insane Clown Posse to Beethoven to Voltaire, and artists from other countries like Angela Chang, The Pillows, and 99 Posse. Ska is by far my favorite music genre (think Less Than Jake, Streetlight Manifesto, Big D & The Kids Table, Skapulario, Reel Big Fish, The Gadjits, Judge Dread).
I really have nothing else really important to tell you here, and I think my work speaks mostly for itself..

As of this week I am not posting new material ON THE INTERNET anymore. I recently was notified that one of my poems, "Relation is a temporary state of mind." was plagiarized on another website. I will have this poem up until the matter is resolved (if it is), and other material will be, well, investigated for plagiarism before I take it offline (so that I have proof that it is actually the other person plagiarizing, not myself). I am really ticked about this. I will be posting to my new myspace, www.myspace.com/lotus_madder, as well as my story-specific bloggers; but I will be removing my work from FictionPress, Storywrite, and AllPoetry (or at least the things I don't want stolen.) So if you want to keep up to date with what I write, you can add that Myspace.
I'll be starting to remove works from this page tomorrow morning. Sorry for those of you who aren't plagiarists. (I'll be notifying people with author alerts up about this change, also.)
Sincerely,
Sacha Lynn

I am finally finished with high school. I'm waiting on Marshall University to send me a letter so that hopefully I can start college in the fall. So for now I have the summer--and for what, you may wonder (except probably not, because no one reads this, I'm sure). Well, I am going to be doing some light traveling hopefully, 1-4 day trips max, and of course taking more hours at the library. Now that my life has settled down from identity theft (yes, it sucks) and graduation and the general stress of the past week, I am going to be doing a lot of revision work. I am rewriting Jake Morrigan's Story and eventually retitling it, because that kind of title is just so trite. The rest of my revision list includes What to do With a Gun, The Journal of Brian Ezhno, and Witches' Railroad (maybe). Then I still have to work on The Cerulean Empress and Moraya Koshka. I'm also working on somehow getting a collection of my poetry published, probably through self-publishing now, before I leave for Marshall, so that I can leave a copy at my library and maybe at the one at my high school. No one would read it, probably, but it would be nice to know it is there in case someone ever catches a glimpse of it. (Ha ha, I have such high hopes.) I may work on The Fall of Heaven also, and maybe gush some new poetry for my lacking account at AllPoetry. But for now I am going to go make tea and read over the new Part I of Jake Morrigan's Story. (No really, you should read it and give it feedback.)

So it's not even February yet and it's already been a long year. My good friend Derek "Digi" Pence died Sunday night, on January 13. He was in a car accident and died on impact. His wake is this afternoon.. So aside from the memorial poems that I've written in the past two days, I probably will not be writing much at all for a good while. I will eventually get around to it... But I've hardly been home since I heard the news at 4:29 am on Monday. I've been at the mall with our friends, grieving in the only way we could imagine Digi would want... playing DDR, Tokyo Drift, and just being at the mall and Walmart like he always was. I was a mess on Monday, and I know today after the viewing I will be, too; but it won't completely sink in, I don't think, until Saturday rolls around and I go to the mall and he isn't there like he always was. I also am considering writing a story based on my experience with the loss of such an amazing person... just another way to immortalize Digi. R.I.P. Derek "Digi" Allan Pence, March 5, 1989 - January 13, 2008. You will be missed.
