Favorite Stories
My absolute favorite story on this site is The Three Powers by Medieval-Rogue, who I was lucky enough to snag as my beta-reader. The plot is creative, the writing is brilliant, and you will fall in love with the characters. A ruthless vampire has found a way to let his family walk in the sunlight. He's using this power to amass an army, one that can only be countered by three sisters with closer ties to the vampiric race than expected. One is kidnapped and held prisoner, and the other two have to deal with diverse races and their powers and changing blood. To defeat the army, they may have to tap into magic they don't believe in...

Recent Reads (mostly books sometimes webcomics)
Trying Human -- A webcomic that I found a little while ago. Rose is just an unassuming secretary in NYC when her nosebleeds and sleepwalking push her to seek out a therapist. He suggests that, perhaps, alien abudctions may be involved. (And they are.) The creator has researched accounts from real people who have abduction stories to give detail to the story, and the drawing isn't half-bad either. It hasn't progressed all that far yet but it's really intriguing and I can't wait to learn more about the characters.

I Am America (And So Can You!) -- "Stephen" Colbert's book (written in the persona of his character, hence the quotation marks). This was pretty amusing and written exactly like the show, which made me giggle, I have a weird crush on "Stephen." The book really expands on the character, and at the end is a transcript from Colbert's appearance at the 2006 Correspondents Dinner, where he stayed in character despite his audience being the very people he was skewering.
