Author has written 7 stories for Fantasy, and Sci-Fi.

Hmm...new year, time to update this I guess.

I'm female, and a recent college graduate with a bachelors in Geology. I've recently been laid off and am looking for work. Those of you in similar situations will know how hard that can be. All I can hope is that I can put my new surplus of free time to good use until I have a job again.

Writing is what I do when an idea for a story refuses to leave me alone. It's kind of like when you get a song stuck in your head and only listening to it makes it go away. When I get an idea stuck, I start writing it. Often that means a new idea will hijack my time and inspiration from an ongoing story. This is why I have so many posted and unfinished. I try to get back to all of them, but it's hard to write a story when all I can think about it a different one entirely. All I can say is I am sorry for long waits between chapters.

Another thing I do when I have free time and spare inspiration is draw. Mostly I draw characters from my stories, but I'll doodle just about anything out of my imagination. I've put a few of my drawings on DeviantArt. Feel free to check them out at http://sugarloafin.deviantart.com Most of my main characters from "And Wind Makes Fire Dance" have a portrait posted there.

Fanfiction ideas hijack my brain just as easily as original ideas, so feel free to check out my modest complement of fanfics at http://www.fanfiction.net/~sugarloafin They mostly tend to be short, introspective pieces about my favorite characters from various fandoms.

Read and review if you wish, constructive criticism is always appreciated. If you review I will try to always reply and return the favor by reviewing something of yours. Knowing how much a review means to me, I try to give them out as much as possible. (Spread the love!) I do want to send a big thank you to everyone who has reviewed something of mine, you've all been such wonderful motivators. Thank you all!

A note on Travels and Travails:

This was written purely for my own amusement, as a lighthearted break from all the drama in my other stories. Updates will unfortunately be infrequent as this is simply my outlet when I need to write something other than angst and drama. The story was conceived in the spirit of an old RPG where every quest spawned half a dozen others until the original goal was all but forgotten. As such it is set in a generic fantasy world with generic fantasy magic. I hope you have as much fun reading it as I had writing it. :)

Story Status (I'll try to keep this updated, but no promises)

In the Rhythm of the Newborn - Whoa. I updated it. Chapter 6 is up! Don't get your expectations up though, writing this one is going to go sloooow.

And Wind Makes Fire Dance - 39 is up after an amazingly short amount of time! (for me at least)

Project 16 - I finally made the updating rounds to this one! yay for 4

To Break The Line - I think I broke the line where I usually give up on stories, so maybe I'll manage to keep updating this. :)

Modified Souls - COMPLETE - Now cut into (smaller) sections per reader request. Newly edited and (in my opinion anyways) better than before. :)

Crimson and Sand - Besides needing a better title and a massive rewrite...this was my attempt at 08 NaNoWriMo...I dislike it enough to not want to work on it, but like it too much to nuke it entirely. I'm debating whether I should leave it here or not. I guess it's not hurting anything to stay, but it's certainly not going anywhere either.
