So Damn Smug: In an ideal world, Alex would have fame, riches and Jared Mitchell. However, in order to make it all come true, she must first deal with boarding school, maths tutoring and having her arch nemesis live at her house for two whole weeks... It's just a little bit of fun, cheesy, teenage romance that deals with a character that has all my flaws, magnified. Which doesn't sound so enticing but when you throw in 1 cute fluffy-eared dog, 2 hectares of school's land and 3 incredibly hot guys, it makes this story a must-read. I'm just experimenting with characterisation and writing in the present tense, trying to make it sound somewhat like Catherine Jinks' Pagan quartet (Excellent books!) with some of the absurdity from Nick Earls' novels (48 Shades of Brown, World of Chickens (Two To Go in America), Making Laws for Clouds.

Alex is Rachel McAdams, though without the blonde bitch look. She's really pretty here, and yeah, Alex thinks she's good looking so I worry about giving her too much credit.

Jared is... ERIK VON DETTEN!!! Hahaha!!! I absolutely LOVE this picture. He's holding some... weird creature that looks like a cross between Yoda and an elephant... which is really supposed to be a dinosaur... but you can imagine it to be Reid the dog. Erik's got this arrogant, stupid pretty-boy look... and that's Jared.

Tom is Hayden Christensen. Very cute. Very nice. Gotta love him.

Charlotte is Bec Cartwright, Australian soapie star who's married to Lleyton Hewitt. This is the only photo I could find where she looks pre-famous. And very Charlotte-y.

Evan has to be affiliated in some way with Ryan Phillipe. It's just one of those things that has to be, you know? Well, here we are... enjoy.

Jamie can be Kristen Bell from Veronica Mars, especially in this photo... you can so imagine her going bubbly and jumpy here, and that's the effect I want with Jamie.

Reid has not been done because I can't think of what sort of dog he is... could you help me? Judging by the description?

This is my newest writing project, stimulated somewhat by a story my sister told me. Totally different from So Damn Smug aside from the fact that it's set in high school and in Australia, this one is darker, more serious and with a much more likeable main character. I know where I want it to go, but sometimes, I just have trouble getting there...
