"I wake up to find it's another four aspirin morning and I dive in. I put on the same clothes I wore yesterday. When did society decide that we have to change and wash a T-shirt after every individual use? If it's not dirty, I'm gonna wear it. I take the stairs to the car and there's fog on the windows. I need caffeine to my blood stream. I take caffeine to the blood stream. I grip the wheel, and all at once I realize that my life has become a boring pop song and everyone's singing along." - Jack's Mannequin, "I'm Ready"

I am Heather. ("What's your damage, Heather?") Yeah. Should I bore you with the particulars?

Here, Have a Husband has been removed because it is now fully revised, and I am beginning the long journey to publishing (fingers crossed) which starts with desperately trying to find someone to represent the story. The feedback I've received on it has been invaluable and really helped me produce a more complete version of the story. Thanks to everyone who read, and I apologize for having to take it down. Hopefully one day you'll see it again (in print)!

Keep an eye out for a few short stories I've been writing for college courses. Short fiction definitely isn't my strong suit, but I figure I'll get some use out of them anyway. Who knows? Maybe a new novel will surface soon. Here's to hoping.

Any other questions, comments, or general conversation are more than welcome also!

"This is how it works: you're young until you're not, you love until you don't, you try until you can't, you laugh until you cry, you cry until you laugh, and everyone must breathe into their dying breath. No, this is how it works: You peer inside yourself, you take the things you like, and try to love the things you took, and then take that love you made, and stick it into someone else's heart, pumping someone else's blood, and walking arm-in-arm, you hope it don't get harmed, but even if it does, you'll just do it all again." - Regina Spektor, "On the Radio"
