Author has written 7 stories for Fantasy, Fantasy, Politics, and Young Adult. My name is Kirstie. I love history, writing, reading, and politics. I live in California, and currently (on the vein of politics) I'm feeling fed up with all the divisiveness and idiots in general. I go to the University of San Francisco and majoring in Psychology with English as a minor. I've been writing since 8th grade, but have been making up stories waaay longer than that. I really hope to meet some writers on FictionPress that can review my first original story! The genres attached to it are fantasy, a bit of romance, and lots of adventure! This story is a trilogy, called The Pirate's Legacy. The first of the series, New Beginnings, is finally finished. Now, I am writing the second of the series, New Identities. This account will most exclusively be dedicated to the series! Once in a while I might add some of my random poems, but who knows what else? What I would love to write about is a story of an Asian American girl, but that won't happen until I get maturer in my writing. I really hope that my "break-out" novel will be about a tempestuous summer I had shortly after my freshman year of high school. My stories are really "out there," meaning, there's no specific genre I am stable in, but for this account, I'm posting my very first original pirate fantasy story. I'm become very adept in writing about pirates and high seas. My fanfiction stories are in this site: http://www.fanfiction.net/~riseagainsttboi My fanfictions consists of Pirates of the Caribbean and Yu Yu Hakusho. Unfortunately, I lost my fanfiction spin-off of Holes by Louis Sachar but managed to resurrect first 2 parts of what was once a 5 part series. Since all but one is complete, the one being on indefinite hiatus, this fanfiction account's pretty much a collection of my progress in writing. Captain Hook (Peter Pan 2003): "Growing up is such a barbarous business, full of inconvenience... and pimples." Mr. Colburn (my former AP English teacher): after his book falls off of his podeum "Ahhhh! My book just committed suicide!" lmao Mike (When It Happens): "I have this vague recollection of you in your prime - back when you had balls." Matt (my ray of sunshine!): "Don't settle. It's always bad when people settle for the sake of settling. You get what you want first!" AMEN!! Tim McIlrath (lead singer of my fave band, Rise Against): "Revolution starts at learning. If you're not angry, you're not paying attention." Deist (my Latin professor): "Without a past, we are a moment - a speck in the universe." Mr. George Feeny (Boy Meets World): "I believe that when you find love, you hold on to it and cherish it because there is nothing finer, and it may never come again." Favorite books: The Harry Potter series (of course), The Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner (you MUST read these! They are all pure genius!!), Holes and Sixth Grade Secrets by Louis Sachar, When It Happens by Susane Colasanti (this book changed my LIFE! I am NOT kidding!) Here's a list I have for inspiration and/or reference for those also writing pirate-based stories: movies - Cutthroat Island (this one is awesome!), Treasure Island, all 3 POTC movies, Peter Pan (the 2003 version), The Princess of Thieves (Keira Knightly's in it), Hook, Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas (it's very entertaining), Tarzan (hey, I love Phil Collins! haha) Do the research! It's time-consuming but it makes your story credible!! The Pirate's Legacy Update: 1/19/10 - I've finally posted ch 27!! So with this chapter, my Winter Break is coming to a close. My classes, unfortunately, start on the 25th as I have said before. Why, if I have so much time until then, am I not squeezing out another chapter? Because my inspirational reserves are depleted. I need to relearn Latin for my second semester of it, and my muse is on the verge of strike, so if I try to get her to cooperate, she'll most likely walk out on me. heh The happy news is that I have chapter 28 outlined - before my muse started being uncooperative. I just need the time to write it out. However, you guys won't hear from me most likely until Spring Break, but we'll see! You never know when inspiration strikes... Remember, messages to me always puts me in a creative mood!! :D Major characters in The Pirate's Legacy: Emelia "Em" Kraven Quiesco - Em when her hair is short. Her hair color is darker than in the picture but still has a brown shade when there's light on it. I especially like this picture because it shows her regal bearing despite what she's wearing. Roger Robinson (Dread Pirate Robin) - This is what Roger looks like. Without a doubt, and this picture proves it. Michael Turnbull - The Michael I envision has true-blond hair and blue eyes, but the face structure and hair style the same. Craig and Daryl - I put two distinct pictures of them now. Just imagine Daryl's hair as if water had been poured on his head. Cicero - I thought this was perfect with the crazy dark blond hair. Annalyn Draconigena Quiesco - I thought this pic represented Annalyn better. Salamus - The man looks as scary as I picture Salamus. Cecil - Less beard and shorter hair, and that is Cecil. Selene - Yes, I am aware Selene looks like a nun in the picture. Arturus Quiesco - Shorter hair is what I imagine with. He usually does keep his hair short, but once he got sick, it was just grown out. Malva Dame - No wonder Roger isn't attracted to her. Just imagine her with ink-black hair. Lazarus - Just change the dead-looking eyes with reptilian, orange ones. You know, he could almost look like Roger's full-Draconian brother... Leonce "Leo" Odina - I've based Leo on this character from this Joan of Arc movie with Milla Jovovich. I recommend watching it. It's really good. Demitri Phoenicus - How can you NOT fall for that handsome face?? haha | |||||||||
