Velkyn usually lives at Fanfiction.net, where she writes darkly humourous stories about the Gashlycrumb Tinies, erotica set in World of Warcraft, and action/mystery (with a twist of romance) in the Lupin the Third universe. Velkyn can also be found at Writing.com, where, knowing the rules about first publication rights, she agonises over which pieces to post. She has never published anything of consequence, though she did once write a technical manual for a piece of in-house software at a management consulting firm. Oh, and there was that poem in Unicorns Be... "but that was in another country; and besides, the wench is dead." (C Marlowe, The Jew of Malta)

If one looks closely, one will find places all over the net where Velkyn hangs her hat. At the moment, her preferred location is right at her desk, working on the fifth draft of a book that will probably never break free from her computer. She has taken several writing courses, read hundreds of books on the craft, and written millions of words (though not all at once, of course). She does not believe in writer's block, and it frustrates her endlessly when people say "write what you know", or "what message to do you want to convey to your readers?" Velkyn writes to entertain, and fully half her time is spent researching.

Old, cranky, and insufferably polite, Velkyn has more facets than a cleverly-cut jewel. She believes that home is where the heart is.
