After years of stalemate, the Union has finally found a soldier strong-willed and sturdy of heart enough to challenge Lee and the Army of Northern Virginia's supremacy in the Civil War: Ulysses S. Grant, soon to be dubbed "the Butcher." Looking to break the deadlock, the Army of the Potomac marches off into Virginia, musing on the vicissitudes of war and the drama of the fighting.

A Narrative, Epic Poem that tells the True Tale of the Heroic Death of Vitaly Skakun Volodmyrovych, a Ukrainian Soldier who blew himself up along with a strategically-key Bridge and several dozen Russian Tanks carrying over one hundred Russian Soldiers that were attempting to cross the bridge. His sacrifice stalled the Russian advance into Kyiv, allowing tens of thousands to flee.

A narrative poem relaying the tale of a Hessian conscript in the American Revolution who has come to love the American continent since being deployed there to fight for the British. He laments his orders to return to Prussia after the war is lost, yet reminisces on the homely natural beauty he witnessed while in the Colonies.

A stylistic experiment inspired by various poems by Rudyard Kipling, which emulated the Cockney, dock-worker accent common to Kipling's working-class readership in London. Kipling, having served in the British military in India, was well-versed in the lingo. In this poem's case, I tell of the woes and reminisces of a forgotten Afghanistan veteran from rural Appalachia.
