A stylistic experiment inspired by various poems by Rudyard Kipling, which emulated the Cockney, dock-worker accent common to Kipling's working-class readership in London. Kipling, having served in the British military in India, was well-versed in the lingo. In this poem's case, I tell of the woes and reminisces of a forgotten Afghanistan veteran from rural Appalachia.
