Celebuial chapter 1 . 2/8/2006 I totally agree, Americans complain too much (this coming from the queen of complaining- me ;P) I enjoyed how you described the symbols of Job! |
Aby and Levi chapter 1 . 12/28/2004 Thank God somebody finally said that! You're exactly right! I mean, look at the history of our country! People came here to be Americans because they didn't want to be what they already were! We offered change that people needed and they complain. Until we create the perfect human being (our camp staff came pretty close, eh? j/k) we will never be the perfect place. And any other reviewer, no cloning references! Clones are like identical twins. They can't be created to act a certain way as some believe. Their brain patterns are quite different. Much like twins...Alex and TJ...no comment. Anyway, loved it Heather! LOVED IT! Docks & Alex |
LIZEROO chapter 1 . 2/28/2003 i guess it's kinda human nature to think like that. interesting. OH! btw. when i wrote the words "human nature", i reminded myself of a poem i wrote actually complaining about the criminal justice system in america. i'm not gonna be a hypocrite and say that i fully agree (yeah. like i said i wrote a poem complaining), b/c there are problems in our nation and we have to complain to a degree b/c the beurocrats don't always seem to give s* but i understand where you're coming from and when people complain about too much gun regulation, they need to put things into perspective. maybe the "right to bear arms" is not being protected FULLY, but so many other freedoms ARE. that was pretty much one really long run-on sentence! yay for run-ons! anyway. "We still have problems, but have you ever met a perfect person? Until there is a perfect human, there will never be a perfect government. And human nature denies perfection. We have come close, though." great sentiment k bye! i really liked this one! *LIZ* (sry i wrote so much) |
anathalea chapter 1 . 1/27/2003 I really agree with everything you said. Well done! No criticism, although it is a bit short for an essay ... damn, i can't just steal it :P. it's alright, i wouldn't. once again, THANKYOU. you're doing great things for my self esteem. it's updated ana |
Morel chapter 1 . 12/29/2002 This is an interesting little essay you have here. You write about something that many people realized after September 11, 2001 - that while the USA is not perfect, and, in many areas, could use some improvement, it is the greatest country - as measured by economic productivity, innovations and inventions that improve the life of all and reduce the need for physical labor, the number of people that have achieved their lifelong dreams, and the guarantee of basic liberties that enables all this to happen - in the history of the world. I share your hope that the millions of complacent Americans that exist never have to learn the hard way to appreciate this great nation. However, in these times, when North Korea, for example, openly flouts treaties with the US and is ready to risk world war, who knows what will happen? For now, we can only watch and wait. |
AriadneEthereal chapter 1 . 12/29/2002 I don't really agree with what you've said, but I understand the sentiment. It's never enough, people always want something more and complain when others have far less. |
