Reviews for Rabbiting On |

Serri chapter 1 . 6/24/2003 How incredibly odd! I did not know such a philosophy? predilection? existed. The delight you feel about rabbits is interesting-but nearly all my friends have some animal they take absolute and one might think inproportionate delight in. For one, it is a penguin, another, a puffin, another an elephant. I do not think I have such a fondness for an animal (though I do like unicorns). But I do find myself delighted by *stars*. What do you think of that? |
scatterbrish chapter 1 . 6/20/2003 "Then you might count the "role-play furs" - these are those who have perhaps had an animal character in a role-playing game for some time, and have gradually come to realise that this animal means a lot more to them than they had previously thought it did." Can't this simply be getting attached to a certain character, or getting used to playing that character? (Not to be overly cynical.) I told one of my friends to read this essay when i mentioned furs in a conversation. I think it explains it better than I could _ |
Entei-rah chapter 1 . 6/19/2003 A brilliant and deeply thought-provoking piece of writing (as always) Loganberry. And I mean it too... it takes alot for me to be able to read from the start to finish of something in one go! What with all those statistics and case studies... everything just seems so well researched. Oh, and you have the distinct honour of being the first person I've reviewed in my new 'summer of free time'. :D Frithaes, Entei-rah |
kate aka katwin chapter 1 . 6/19/2003 I can't believe I'd never heard of furs before. Your article was interesting and informative. Happy being a human, myself. I mean, I've thought what it would be like to be loads of different animals, but I don't think I'd seriously consider it, so I guess I'm not a fur, but I find the whole thing very interesting, so thanks for writing this! |
Conteuse Vivante chapter 1 . 6/18/2003 Interesting...I wasn't quite clear on what a fur was, but I think I get it now. Thanks for the info on an understated alternative lifestyle. |
Rope chapter 1 . 6/18/2003 *Wipes tear from eye* Finally, somebody writes about furries. I think I'm guilty of many of those things (except, maybe that one 50%, as much as I may write about it) but thanks, Loganberry (They acually had a program on furries in England? Why not also here in the US? Gr...) Oh, well...by the way, Loganberry...I finished CH10 of my fic! |
gaile chapter 1 . 6/17/2003 Hey, that sounds quite a bit like me... I mean the bit about being attracted to a certain kind of animal, and being shy in crowds and stuff. Interesting, very interesting. I like the way you introduce this topic as well. It's a very good read. |
Paci chapter 1 . 6/11/2003 Well, hey there. :) I thought I knew a lot about furs before- I find the whole lifestyle very cool- but it's always quite interesting to read someone else's take on the whole thing. I am, as you might guess, a classic "furry fan." The lifestyle fascinates me- not to mention that I go absolutely nuts every time I see a rabbit :D- but as for doing it myself... m. I don't think it's for me. Of course, that may change in the future. Anything's possible. But for now, I remain a mere fan. (If you know of any more essays like this, BTW, send them my way. I'll devour them.) ;) |
Animagess chapter 1 . 6/7/2003 Hm... Very interesting and informative, as I've never heard of the term 'fur' before in this context ('furry' yes, but not the singular noun 'fur'). I myself am most definitely not a fur, but this was a very (insert synonym for 'interesting' here) read. |
vex456 chapter 1 . 6/7/2003 I'm not sure what to say about this... It was very well written!...hmm...(That's what every nice person says after reading something that is completely at odds with their own defined norms) You're an odd one, you are! You're everything I've ever thought to be bizarre, dangerous, and inexplicably wrong (British, atheist, 'furry'-in corresponding orderhehe) all wrapped up in one nice, thoughtful, articulate, fuzzy little bundle. |
Handmaster chapter 1 . 6/2/2003 If I want to be a bird for the sole reason that I could fly on my own wings, does that count? This was pretty interesting relly, especially considering that a lot of it was facts and figures. Nice. |
Loganberry not logged in chapter 1 . 5/24/2003 Well, not-really-wonky-donkey-cos-I-nicked-someone-else's-name-for-the-occasion, as you see, you don't need your own account to review my stuff, so why not have the guts to write here again under your own name? I have no problem with negative reviews, of course, but I would prefer to know who was giving them. Cheers. |
wonky donkey chapter 1 . 5/23/2003 wow so...how to say this without seeming like an asshole, umm. so i only read this because someone i know gave me the link and said "read this its by the biggest psycho you'll ever encounter." needless to say i began reading with a slightly biased mindset, and sure enough, your first few paragraphs seemed to confirm that you were indeed a psycho. however, i did not stop after those first paragraphs, im not sure why, maybe curiosity, maybe true interest, maybe your amazing literary style (minus the atrocious puns) kept me riveted to the page and i do have to say that upon completing this essay my views have changed. I no longer toss you casually into the bin labelled 'general psycho', no sir, you now have your VERY OWN CATEGORY! YOU ARE BY FAR THE MOST FUCKED UP PERSON I HAVE EVER HEARD OF. and though it may make you sick to hear it from me, watership down was a pretty cool book with great characters (i especially liked Fiver for some weird reason, bought the sequels, and learned every word in lapine). and rabbits do rock (though i did shoot one once with a bow and arrow). ~cheers - :( and btw, this is someone else's screen name thingie, so dont give him shit cuz he doesnt know i used it |
Xaquya chapter 1 . 5/15/2003 I never thought of it before, but I guess I'm a fur. (What with me wearing bunnyears in public and singing about them at the top of my lungs and telling everyone I'm a bunny) I'm amazed none of my friends have asked me. . . I'm amazed they're still my friends since I've been obessing about bunnies since the begining of the school year. He he he. . . It's cool to find someone else that asociates themself with rabbits too. I'm reading Watership Down at the moment. -Queen of the Pink Vampire Bunnies |
oh viscosity chapter 1 . 5/10/2003 hmm...i have never heard of a fur before...then again there's a lot of things haven't heard of before. This was a very interesting essay, largely because of the subject matter. I guess I'll have to go read more of you're stuff and figure out exactly what being a fur is. |
