Honestly, I don't agree with your view as far as spirits and afterlife. I really don't at all. I think religion and eternal bliss/eternal damnation is something made up by men. I'm being too disagreeing to give a v. satisfactory review. Maybe it's because of the statements and the moral of the poem that I can't see past it, I'm never good with things that have actual pointed endings. I don't believe in pointed endings.
