| E. Gao chapter 1 . 3/20/2003
it's sweet. not in an "aw how KYOOT! ! !" way but in that it has a certain amount of levity in the words and expressions. and the emotions, of course. I love it.

Love the "and if you can." stanza, especially the last two lines of it, and the ending is so lovely. Beautiful work, you are wonderful at this -

i don't know why, but this poem just seemed to touch me. i really love the stanza that begins, "and if you can pad." the writing, to me, feels delicate and light. it almost makes me want to cry from reading it, yet i can't say why.

First off, I really like this series- the whole umbilicus imagery sequence fascinates me. In this one I think the nicest lines are "have forgotten that a pauper girl/can still be a proper girl in rags." Very nice juxtaposition of pauper/proper.

It's almost dreamy, sort of like one of those Salvador Dali paintings (if I recalled his name correctly). Dreamy but with a hidden darkness to it. I love the last stanza; what a pretty image!
Keep writing! Peace ~~
